  1. I wonder if they are partnered with other shelters and sanctuaries around the world to help get these pets adopted. I know other places do this with good results

  2. This is happening in Australia to, you rent a house landlords wont let you have animals, just because you rent a house why cant we have them its cruel to both humans and dogs too.., no one needs to live alone and neither do animals we have at this time 700 animals surrendered and 400 on waiting list thats sydeny a lone $130 they charge my daughter to surrender her cat and kittens..there people who simply cant afford that but then get fined for doing the wrong thing greed .!!! Cause this problem over and over again

  3. Well the good news is after the eclipse on 8th April there will be a bifurcation of timelines and the good people and animals will slowly be pulled away from the evil satanic controllers like the UN and the WEF one world govt and transhuman future that will still exist but on another earth. You will see Trump return and the evil Biden disappear. The ones remaining in the 3D will still only be in that 3D horrific future sadly. The earth has shifted into the 4th, 5th and 6th dimension already and we have to catch up with it. The timelines is a split from one earth to two. Those that are undeserving, especially those that hurt animals, just simply don't ascend. It is the beginning and at the end of this year or very early next year we get the solar flash which transforms people from carbon based bodies to their original beings – crystalline and they get all their powers back, what the cabal called "junk DNA". Want to know more, look up SIBLEY22 on Rumble and listen to Christian 21 and perhaps go back to his earlier works so you get a good grounding. Also THE REAL ISMAEL PEREZ youtube channel is good too, to give you an all round understanding of the galactic world we are heading back into. We know it, but we have been in a veil of amnesia purposely put there by the cabal to keep us dumbed down. So the good news – the animals ascend and they don't have to deal with evil people again, and we get to go into the golden age -the age of Aquarius and we will never be wanting again. We will be using replicators if going into the 4th dimension, and if higher to the 5th dimension, the power is within us using our minds. Think Star Trek, Star Wars, the Matrix – all sci fi was real. We are living in an inverted simulation. It won't be long before the EBS when you all know what I know.

  4. Thank you Dr Scott Miller, you are an incredible human being with phenomenal human compassion and empathy highlighting the challenges of families being able to afford appropriate food and medical care for their pets. Thank you also animal rescuers, it takes a huge heart and dedication to animals to take on such a huge responsibility. You are appreciated.

  5. Skyler needs a very quiet home for sure… But i would take a dog like that in a heartbeat if i don't have a toddler and a baby on the way. I wish that dog the best of luck

  6. Sadly, a lot of puppies were bred for money during covid , with people buying these designer breeds to keep them occupied durnng the lockdown. Now everybody is back to " normal " these breeding animals and dogs are surplus to requirements. 😢

  7. I don't understand why it is legal to breed dogs for profit when there is such a huge problem of unwanted dogs and healthy dogs are being euthanized. We will really know that we have turned the corner as a species when we take care of the dogs, cats, horses etc. (and children for that matter) who are already born. Thank you for doing such amazing work for these animals at your shelter.

  8. Fab show! This is my local pet rescue and had all our cats from there over the last 30+ years. We love their events – Christmas is a special time. Doris's bunker is fab food. When we downsized homes a few years back, NCAR were great at taking surplus stuff for their shops – every penny helps!

  9. Vet Clinics previously owned or run by one or two practising Vets are being taken over by corporate interests.
Large animal Vet practice has suffered, which largely treated farm animals, and prices have exploded for small animal practices making unaffordable even mundane procedures and treatment such as consults, spays, neuters and vaccinations for domestic animals.
Only the wealthy will soon be able to home a companion animal.

  10. The shelters make it so difficult for people to adopt dogs. Can’t be over 60, have to have a garden with a 6ft fence, musnt walks dogs where other dogs walk, must be the only pet, shouldn’t have many visitors, children not to visit, – it’s ridiculous. Then they euthanise dogs because they can’t home them, it makes me sick. We fail all these criteria’s but managed to adopt 2 working cocker spaniels aged 9 and 6 because nobody else wanted them, we were lucky. People are forced to buy puppies because they can’t adopt.

  11. We have always adopted rescue dogs & I know first hand the awful Vet bills,I'm blessed & grateful that I can afford to pay my Vet bills, over the years I've spent over £5000 on my one little dog Henry again I'm so thankful to be able to pay. Vet bills are extortionate it's £ 56 just to say hello to our Vet. Awful Awful for owners & their pets who end up being signed over & God forbid being put to sleep. Totally heart breaking.

  12. Maybe this series will tell the people watching or thinking of buying an animal just HOW MUCH these procedures cost…. As the vets DONT do monthly payment schemes and I imagine it’s a few grand for this operation as it can cost a good thousand or more for a broken leg on a dog just imagine how much that nose job cost 😮 if you can’t afford it they take the animal and place it in a dogs home 🤷🏻‍♀️ rather than help out the owners with payment plans….upsetting for the animal and owner

  13. Sincerely long before this crisis, people found that dog shelters were very stubborn to give a dog for adoption. You have to have a garden, and a specific type of garden!? Some people there were hysterical and people did not dare to search dog from shelters, rather yellow pages. That was same with me. First dog from shelter, second from yellow pages. I wanted a big dog and I do not have a garden, but I have time, love, and there is a good enviroment, she is on open air.. Works fantastic! So, there should be some serious discussion about that. Big dogs if they are not the hyperactive breed can be great in an appartment. Big dogs eat less than small! They get fat easily! People do not know this. With all these helping products and gadgets you can manage your life more easy.. Ofd course big no for crates, that is the most awfull abuse I have ever heard, and it is permited in America? It is not for psychiatric evaluation of the owner? It should be just regullar calling, posting photos, communication after you take a dog from a shelter, but some things should really change. People just don't know and think it is a big problem owning big dogs. I own a dog similar to Iris, everybody in the neighborhood loves her, and she has it all. Much easier for me than maybe if I had a small dog. I walk during night, always safe, run with her, feeling safe, as a female.. Get a big dog, and live without fear if you are a lady… And yes some things in addoption should be more open, practical.. And there should be founds for poor dog owners, also people who rent should boycott landlord that forbid pets, that is so cold and lazy and stupid, you wouldn't want to go live there…And yes.. People should forbid that awful Beethowen movie that portrays bih dogs as a hughe problem.. It is awful what some movies did. The only thing with a big dog is that you need proper equipment, and to learn what breed he, she is.. If it is a mix.. You can see from their appearance, and then you choose and think what is for you. And if there is behavior problems, take a course and learn. It is never too late for a dog to learn,never.. With people is different. Lots of prejudice and fear of the unknown, and missinformation is a problem. Just a very few dogs are like naturally not manageable for addoption, for example they start butchering cats, they show crazy behavior, this, that.. Then just take it back to the shelter and report so that people know.. Other than that, dogs are not a burden, they are just a responsibility and make your life great! Know what you want and search that dog. Oh yeas, and my dog with all the running and walking, and her guarding on the terrace( that is great for guard dogs) eats so little in comparison to cats we have here! People get in a financial problem with cats! They should never spoil them, because they became very exclusive

  14. I do think it needs to be made easier to rescue. Yes technically all of the requirements are there to filter out the bad, but it also filters out the good. I have talked to a lot of people who had experience with dogs, had a good amount of money if not straight up rich, and are just genuinely nice and responsible sounding people, but they get refused from rescues for some kind of frankly silly reason. Most of them ended up getting a puppy and they are doing very well, but those could have been rescue dogs instead. I also ended up getting a puppy even though I wanted to rescue and have rescued before, but I wouldn't be suitable because my wall isn't 6ft. A lot of people who want to rescue are being pushed away sadly

  15. It's such a worldwide issue 😢
I run a rescue in New Zealand 🇳🇿
We are super small but from the start of the year we have had 76 pound dog's, 50 kittens and 5 horses come in 😭

  16. There is also a crisis in the USA. There are animals being abused in Mexico. It's horrible for animals in Greece and Spain. Human beings are not a very nice species. They refuse to neuter or spay and seem to enjoy torturing animals. I'm talking about the galgos in Spain.

  17. As an animal behaviorist I couldn’t be happier to see Iris and the effectiveness of the focus-exercise on display! It really is my go-to exercise for any kind of reactivity, it is so simple, so effective, a way to reinforce instead of punishing, and so easy to learn! Thank you for shining a light on such wonderful tool!

  18. Not only are the medical costs over the top, they still need to stop bring animals from other countries…..we are all suffering in the same areas, but brings animals in from other countries is not helping. Harsh, but true.

  19. I feel the rescue centers everywhere are in a very big crisis because of the cost of living has become outrageous! I pray every day about this. I have no idea what can be done or if there really is anything that can be done! We all need to pray 🙏 🙏🙏

  20. North Clwyd Animal Rescue, you are doing an amazing job, and MANY THANKS!! I know how hard it could be with a full house, and 400 on waiting list!?!? It's nice to be understanding but I do think many people are lacking empathy and compassion, and COMMITMENT to another fellow sentient being….we humans have some growing and evolving to become more conscious of other species right to be here on this planet, and have healthy and peaceful lives. 💟

  21. When my 18 year old dog passed away in my arms I was willing to take any dog whether it was old or big any dog that needed love however in Canada it is incredible what you have to go through to adopt a homeless dog and it is incredible the amount of money you have to pay that is why my friend's dog is from Mexico and my sister's dog is from Iran we can't afford to save our own here in Canada

  22. I can afford to keep a small dog i have rehomed 2 small dogs for a person i know but i cant afford adoption fees and no doubt im one of many!
If this problem was addressed then you would only have to find homes for big dogs!
I may be wrong im open to that but thats my thinking!

  23. Surely there has to be a compromise? Families are giving up pets because they cannot afford their medical and health needs, which means the sanctuary then has to house feed and provide those medical & health procedures FREE. Why not, provide those same procedures at a small charge to the pet parent or in some circumstances free, if it means the pet gets to stay home with a loving family instead of taking up a bed that could be used for an unwanted or stray animal, wouldn't that make more sense?

The same goes for feeding these animals, the cost of feeding these animals is 100% the responsibility of the sanctuary, if a family is struggling to afford the cost of feeding a pet, why not provide food to these families at a small charge if it means the pets get to stay with their families. That way, instead of the sanctuary providing a home, food and medical for the pets at their own cost, they would instead be freeing up beds, keeping loved pets in loving homes AND receiving a small income for the food and medical they would otherwise be providing anyway. Which in turn would free up beds & help reduce the waiting list.

You could even have an arrangement where receivers of cheap medical care and food, give their time one day a month to work with the pets or walk dogs, providing more "free" voluntary help & a community of pet lovers, carers and pet families, all in one.

  24. Way I see the Reiki stuff is like… its an empathic thing? like even if you don't believe in the Earth's energies and such, it gives the person treating you with it enough of a like… meditative calm? that they can sorta exude. Its Kinda like what you said in the "Calm Vibes" thing Scott, They're so calm and have tailored the environ to be this sorta calming place that it just kinda… spreads? Eh, I like this sorta thing even though I don't totally believe all of the tenants and energy stuffs y'know?

  25. Sad to see poorly bred dogs being bred many times – yet more unhealthy dogs brought into the world. Really sucks. Cruel. They can't breathe well. A basic need in life.

  26. The blend of the financial situation and, people who took on dogs during lockdown & then wanted to give them up after, have both have added to a difficult position. Unscrupulous single dog breeders wanting the big pay days, are in the mix too. We need a clear message on spaying and neutering. I wouldn’t give my cat up though. The rescues are amazing but can only do so much ❤

  27. Great work, Dr. Scott and the shelter team. That's real love for animals. A wonderful video about the plight of animals and shelters that also highlights the plight of pet owners.
    Political change is urgently needed.

  28. The unaffordable cost of vet bills is driving some families to give away their animals. Good that there is an investigation into these fees.

  29. We're always making excuses for human beings who can't commit for the long term care and love of their dogs. Dogs are family and if they need food, that should be able to be done, if you are truly committed to your dogs. I'd rather go without food myself, then give up my dogs! I know Vet bills can be high, but the general vaccines and medical care should be able to be afforded, and I know that it is difficult for people to afford, and I understand….. In this day and age, is lack of commitment, responsibility, and the deep love that an animal needs, all to prevalent?…The overwhelming number of dogs and cats that need home is complicated, but truly, if you really love your animals, then you can figure out some of these problems so that you can keep your dogs, but do you really want them?? Caring for another being can really teach us so much about ourselves…Spay/neuter your pets, and adopt that's what's going to solve this problem. People have created the problem and now people should be able to open their hearts, and solve this problem. 400 dogs on the waiting list for this shelter, is tragically unbelievable!!
