Dude. Hiromatsu completely willing to sacrifice his friggin life for Lord Toranaga as part of his plan is beyond epic. That actor did that scene to perfection. All the scenes in this ep were simply outstanding.
The black nice guy in the middle seems to have the same shaking of his heart as me. It's my friend.
Do you guys know history? Toranaga became the greatest person ever
You know heroes who protected their troops by covering grenades thrown into the trenches.I hope you understand that this seppuku is the same act.
He prevented the multiple automatic triggering of seppuku.
The fact that she, the mother to the heir of Taiko bowed to Ishido means she accepted the marriage proposal. Bowing represents her subordination to his will.
Hiramatsu goofed up a bit when he told all generals his lord intends to fight. He shouldnt have said that. At the meeting, he owned up to it by making this subterfurge much more believable. Rıp Hiramatsu.
Taiko's wife was a wise and great god mother. The fallen leaf model made a foolish choice. So, how will the drama unfold? Japan's Warring States period was like shogi. not chess. In shogi, you can use the pieces you capture. It can be sent to battle as a strategic piece. Victory and defeat become even more complicated. A smart military commander who is good at strategic wins. like Toranaga
I cry watching this episode. So must great acting there.
For the sake of a conspiracy… At the same time, if Toranaga rises up in arms, it will be a battle to commemorate Hiromatu. This will further boost everyone's morale.
Brutal Episode! That Seppuku scene with the father & son was fkn hard to watch 😔😔😔
Anyway, great reaction Wave Crew! Onto the next one ⚔️⚔️⚔️
Hiromatsu is supposed to be based on Hosokawa Fujitaka but his actions seems to represent Torii Mototada. Fujitaka was a Oda general, sided with Hideyoshi after Nobunaga's death and lived after sekigahara. On the other hand, Mototada knew Ieyasu since his hostage time, joined him at the time and died before sekigahara fighting a delaying action (40,000 vs 2,000).
Hiromatsu was so loyal and he knew the plan all along. He has to go through with acting. Even if it meant his death. Imagine being so loyal that you do that!
Why the hell did Anjin beat that guy and just leave?
How did Calvin know the church would be next to the courtesans?
That seppuku was stupid and disgusting… there must have been a better way… but at least he agreed to it beforehand. He sacrificed himself to the cause. Hiromatsu was my favorite…
Harakiri (seppuku) is a means of death with dignity to protect the honor of the samurai. But it may also be carried out as a punishment for other purposes, it may be a death in protest to admonish a lord for his deeds, or it may be a follow-up to show loyalty to a dead lord.
However, in order to prevent the loss of capable vassals, a prohibition against martyrdom was issued in later periods.
49 days…
Legend has it that the soul of a dead person is deliberated every 7 days, and on the 49th day, the destination of the soul is decided.
what a show.
“To deceive your enemy, you have to deceive your friend first.”
Bushido refers to the moral code or spiritual guidelines that the samurai class in Japan was expected to honor. Bushido represents the values and code of conduct that a samurai should uphold on the battlefield and in daily life, and includes the following main elements.
1. duty and humanity: respect for loyalty and beneficence, and the importance of human connection and trust.
2. courtesy: to show respect and humility to others by respecting civility and courtesy.
3. martial arts training: It was believed that a samurai should practice the martial arts, not only to improve his fighting skills, but also to train himself spiritually.
4. loyalty: to be loyal to one's lord or superior and to be prepared to give one's life for him or her.
5. self-control: to restrain one's desires and anger and to act calmly and rationally.
Adherence to these values and principles of conduct was considered the pride of the samurai, and bushido was positioned as a symbol of the samurai class.
盟友=固い約束を結んだ友・固く誓い合った友人・無二の友・同志
Shogun is like Game Of Thrones if Ned Stark was smart
