Damn, they should make a sons of anarchy, Yellowstoneish show about this family
PLEASE stop using plagiarism software (falsely called "AI") generated imagery. It's based on stolen imagery from artists, and it looks like hot garbage anyway.
It's so weird to listen to one of these true crime stories and be so familar with all the locations lol currently living in London. Passed through Lucan many times.
Thank you for removing the annoying background music
Listening from the ukwales ❤
My dad owns a cement mixer he used to be a morter man for brick layers and he did a fair amount of concrete work
simon: no one sleeps 12 and a half hours
me: "sweats nervously"
Towels are very expensive. Good ones anyway. Very popular and appreciated gift here.
Not sure if some are just more likely to have babies of one particular gender, but I do know a family in the school I work at who just announced they’re expecting their 6th daughter…
Regarding the Donnellys being allowed to keep half the land they farmed: if they did the same thing today, they would still have the same result (or possibly get to keep the entire plot) and legally so, at least where I live. Essentially, if you're the one taking care of a plot of land, farming it, mowing it, maintaining it, even paying the tax on it, etc. for a long enough period of time while the legal owner does nothing with the land, you become the legal owner.
This applies to houses as well, iirc. The general idea is that, to prevent property from being abandoned and going to waste, it's better to redistribute it to someone who will take care of it and do something productive with it. It's a very tricky loophole to make work, but it's how my parents' new neighbor actually got the house across the street. The previous owner died and the family left it so neglected that there were wild animals living in it, and the new guy, whose brother lived next door, went in and did all the cleaning, maintenance and repairs.
One thing that seems to have been ommited, (besides the original background music), is the Donnelly's later biz success 🤑 thus is infamous in Canada this Case it's like our Hatfields and McCoys. I noticed dkne Donnelly descendants replied before, and complenated the video i hope thry fo agean.
Oooh! Excited for this one! I grew up with this story! Let's gooooooo
I hate to add to the “they changed the music” comments but very much glad the background music got changed. It wasn’t bad just to short and repetitive to be the background track in my opinion
This episode absolutely wins for the most things that were burned down.
"What does the Salvation Army even do?"
Discriminate against the LGBTQ
Now I don't even notice the background music! Perfect. 👌
I’m about an hour away from Lucan there’s a Black Donnelly museum.
On a side note though, this would be a kick ass Red Dead Redemption game.
You know, for a family of gangsters that supposedly committed all of these crimes…. They sure had good friends and neighbors who cared a lot about them.
Meanwhile, the villains of this story sure seem to have nothing but petty reasons and superstitions to go off of.
Gonna chalk this one up to "local family doesn't take bullshit and people are upset about that".
I dig the silhouette images. Kind of cool.
Crikey! This was epic! Anyone getting Peaky Blinders vibes?
I kind of like the Donnellys. For their time period. They’re a bit scrappy and rough around the edges; not excusing everything they did, but they definitely weren’t isolationist family and weren’t a scourge on the community, but the community like to wind them up and bait them into fights.
It looks like the Spotify version is only 15 minutes long …
Simon for EU president🎉
