HONG KONG – Dim Sum is a food or meal you have to eat in Hong Kong, and today we’re uncovering some of the best places to eat dim sum from hole in the wall to fine dining!
Huge thank you to Virginia for helping me arrange this Hong Kong food tour. Check out her videos @hongkongfoodtours and her food tours: https://humidwithachanceoffishballs.com/
1. Sam Hui Yaat (https://maps.app.goo.gl/51xaCAgjZuSiMShN8) – This small neighborhood dim sum restaurant is a local popular spot and it’s a place I always eat at when I’m in Hong Kong. They have all the classics, and you can sit and enjoy some great tea as well. Prices here range from about $2 – $4 USD per basket, so you can easily have a dim sum breakfast for under $10 USD.
2. Luk On Kui (https://maps.app.goo.gl/oWSoMA72Vh6FFT3f6) – Previously there was a teahouse in Hong Kong called Lin Heung Kui, which closed down (but might re-open?). It was legendary and one of the quintessential Hong Kong food experiences – loud, confusing, delicious, and never a dull moment. Luk On Kui is almost the same, and might even be run by the same people? Anyway, it’s a perfect place to eat local dim sum in Hong Kong. Our total price came to 332 HKD ($42.44 USD), so about 10 – 20 USD per person, and so it ranks in the middle in terms of price.
3. Lung King Heen (https://maps.app.goo.gl/J4QbNTSVtDKuHSNK7) – Lung King Heen is a 2 Michelin Star restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong lead by Executive Chef, Chef Chan Yan Tak. They are famous for a number of things, especially their renowned high end dim sum and their whole abalone puff, which is amazing. It’s definitely high end, but the quality and atmosphere is spectacular. Price per person – 1,463 HKD ($187 USD).
Hope this gives you some ideas where to eat the best dim sum when you’re in Hong Kong!
