Since USSR times crew is still considered as an expendable asset, which cat be replaced at any time (famous quote attributed to WW II general Zhukov: бабы ещё нарожают ). So in case of good hit a crew of almost any T-xx, BMP-3 (due to high caliber gun) suddenly find themselves immediately promoted into space force crew for a brief moment, as ammunition is stored within the crew compartment. If ammo detonates, it will tear off turret and send it sky high.

Its not a coincedence that the t 72s name was changed to the t 90 after gulf war 1 and 2. Problem is, the name change dident change the fact that it is still a t-72, which means the upgrades can't really catch up to Western tanks because there just isn't room to add armor, a bigger gun, or upgraded engines. Because there stuck with the cramped compact hull of the t-72.

Well. I spoke to several former Russian soldiers and airmen. I asked them point blank about the decades of rumors saying their equipment was inferior and that they make so much of it because over 50% of it fails. Their answer was 'yes that is true'. We spend more time fixing or replacing our stuff than using it.
