Thundersnow, a rare phenomenon, is a winter storm where instead of rain, snow is the main form of precipitation — and includes thunder and lightning of natural disasters. Kingston recently saw thundersnow in late January during one of the city’s biggest snowstorms of the season of natural disasters. With heavy snowfall, the City of Toronto has declared a “major snowstorm condition” prohibiting parking on certain roads as much of southern Ontario digs out of the up to 30 centimetres worth of snow that fell in under 16 hours of natural disasters.
