🐟 *PLEAR TREY CHAO*
(Raw River Fish Salad)
Slice fish, lime juice, chicken bullion, sugar, lemongrass, garlic, purple onion shallots, basil, msg, roasted peanuts, bean sprout, long bean, lemon juice and fish sauce. Mix it all together and then squish, drain the juice then add all the ingredients again, squish, plate.

*2. Floating Village*
📍 Kampong Phluk
INTERVIEWEES: Van (Wife) | Pherm (Husband)

☀️ *PRAHOK*
Debone Fish (Moonlight Gourami), wash the fish, salt the fish. Then dry the fish for one day and one night. Then, they smash it and put in jars. Age for at least 20 days, up to 3 years.

🍛 *PRAHOK ANG*
Chop pork, add prahok, chop together. Add lemongrass, Galangal, garlic, chilli, sugar, chicken bullion, msg, chopped until mixed. Wrap it in banana leaves and grill for 30 minutes. Then serve with raw vegetables: eggplant, cucumber, carrots, long bean, winged bean, round eggplant. Or cold rice.

🥗 *PRAHOK CHAO*
Chop prahok, lemongrass, garlic, chilli, sugar and then chop to mix. Add peanuts and chop more. Then add lime juice. Then serve with raw vegetables: eggplant, cucumber, carrots, long bean, winged bean, round eggplant. Or cold rice.

🐍 *GRILLED WATER SNAKES*
Kill the snakes by holding it by the tail and smash it on a log. Blanch the watersnakes in hot water, then remove the skin, put a stick through it. Make seasoning: palm sugar, salt, msg, chicken bullion, garlic and a shit ton of chili. Season the snake. Grill for 30 minutes.

  2. As a Cambodian myself, i absolutely love prohok. There are many different ways to prepare it and many different dishes to use it with. My personal favorite is medium rare steak with prohok and rice and a variety of vegetables. However, this is the first time I've heard and seen of maggot infested prohok. Sonny making me feel like a lil b**ch since i won't even dare to try that lmao. With all respect to the Cambodians that eat it and Sonny that's very adventurous, salute 🫡
