Izmir, Türkiye – Welcome to Izmir, a historical and modern city on the Aegean Coast of Türkiye (Turkey), and home to some delicious Turkish food. Today we’re going on a food tour to eat some of the must eat specialties of Izmir.

⭐️ Huge thank you to Culinary Backstreets: https://culinarybackstreets.com/ – Use “Migrationology10” for a 10% discount on their amazing food tours.

📍 Zeynel Ergin Gevrek Fırını (https://maps.app.goo.gl/BJBkKkeU8SFYWkeM7) – This is one of the most famous and historical bakeries in Izmir. They didn’t charge us, but prices are about $5 – 10 USD per person for a big spread of items.

📍 Tarihi Basmane Lokmacısı (https://maps.app.goo.gl/JGh6VqBFao7dcsiN7) – They take sweets very seriously throughout Turkey, and we couldn’t miss the local specialities of Izmir. They didn’t charge us.

📍 Meşhur Kuyum Pide Salonu (https://maps.app.goo.gl/RmQ8KqtcxHv6SXfF7), Price – 210 TRY ($6.51) for 2 pides

📍 Doydum Kokorec (https://maps.app.goo.gl/VsdFq4rj35nRB8RT9) – Kokorec is one of the ultimate street foods in Turkey, and Izmir is known to have some of the best – rolled and stuffed lamb intestines. Don’t let lamb intestines scare you, they taste is incredible – seasoned with cumin, chili, and oregano. Price – 250 TRY ($7.75)

📍 Cızz Bızz Balık evi (https://maps.app.goo.gl/TVMw3sqotifDgXbg6) – Within the market we stopped for a quick snack of fried sardines. Total price – 300 TRY ($9.30) total price

📍 Cimbomlu Söğüşçü (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Feb1T54JuuRquwg48) – Söğüş is one of the most popular and important Turkish street foods in Izmir. While I’ve eaten lamb head in many countries, in Izmir they enjoy lamb head boiled, and served cold, chopped up in a sandwich. They didn’t charge us (but price is 230 TRY ($7.13)

📍 Doyuran Manisa Kebap (https://maps.app.goo.gl/9f9xeDEvk3n4anxq7) – Finally, we tried the famous Manisa Kebap. Total price – 270 TRY ($8.37)

Izmir is a historical city with so much to offer, and incredible food.

  1. Why not visit Yemen 🇾🇪 the people there are the most humble people in the world. And the food is very unique unlike any middle eastern country you’ve visited. I guarantee you that. Please do some research about it and you’ll see for yourself..

  2. What I want to know is why isn't Micah in school. He is in every video Mark weins does so when is he actually being schooled. This is no life for a small child. He needs other children to play with and interact with Its not peta it's PIT A

  3. I am AMAZED at how many people speak English in all the countries you visit. The translations are EPIC. Also, it makes me realize we Americans should try to learn more than just English. It seems that most people, in the world, are happy to teach, if we're willing. I love that. ❤

  4. Turkish food have’s a style of it’s own,and the food is delicious and made the traditional ,from family recipes and history.after the food done, you can see the pride the chef show about their cooking.

  5. I liked your videos but your Tour guide's English level A1.. The tour guide in Istanbul was very good and explained everything in detail and clearly. Although there was a lot to explain in Izmir, the video was just yes and no.

  6. I totally understand every Turkish inmigrant and student that I met here in Canada. They miss their food so much . Everything looks delicious and fresh Mark 😋
