Drone footage taken in the South African town of Tongaat, Durban, on Tuesday, showed damage to homes and infrastructure in the aftermath of a tornado.
Residents of Tongaat are coming to grips with the scale of the destruction. Edwina Vrijmohun, a local teacher, lamented the extensive damage to her home, caused by what she described as a second disaster, after just recovering from floods last year.
“I’m newly married, just renovated after the floods, and this is another disaster for us,” Vrijmohun said.
Local media reported that the national weather service had issued a level four warning for heavy rain and possible flooding.

My Godπ’
Went to Fairbreeze mosque in Tongaat on Tuesday to drop off stuff to be distributed to the people who were left homeless. I cried seeing the damages to homes and the carnage even though clean up crews removed some of the debris. Our community of Isipingo has been donating truckloads full everyday since then and tomorrow we will be going to the vishwaroop temple to donate more items and we will continue to donate in other affected suburbs. My sincerest condolences goes out to the bereaved families of the 11 people who passed away π
I pray strength and recovery to those injured, faith and hope to those who lost their homes and belongings. There are many earth Γ ngels and we will help you guys as best we can with whatever little we have ourselves. My community has been phenomenal with their contributions pouring in, as with all the other communities throughout KZN and SA who donated, so don't lose hope, whoever is doing their little bit to assist, you all will get back on your feet again π€ Jesus is our guiding light and rock and He is working through us to help YOU π
America used HAARP
My mistake
Feel devistated for these people who have lost everything.

GOD is the only alfa omega all in all Come back to Christ and lets see if he will not rebuild this nation again.
MK have been in power for 1 day and this. God is not happy
Film makers can make a movie about this severe Tonado hit Tongaat
Very sad
Patience and mercy in these challenging times. Let's not criticize and blame unnecessarily. Let's assist wherever and with whatever we can. Family and friends have been affected. Ex. Verulam resident.
That looked like a beast of a tornado, tooβ¦
This is not good.
The country is going down the drain. If it's not the ANC that's destroying the country it's the weather . Know MK can't wait to get there hands on the money. Disaster number 3. Natal can't get a break.
Theres a big increase in natural disasters in KZN. not so long ago a small earthquake in Gauteng too. Times getting crazy yall.
Never seen anyone so happy about their home destroyed.
