  1. I wanted to love Dracula X Chronicles, but I really wish they had had the original Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night available from the get-go instead of locking them behind cryptic secrets in the very difficult 3D Rondo remake

  2. Finally got a modded psp again last year and it’s been used almost exclusively for ps1 games and I absolutely love it. Honestly thinks it’s my Favorite handheld rn

  3. God of war chains of Olympus was my first psp game my dad bought me as a kid I don't know how I almost completed the main story but this game and the entire franchise will always be my favorite in gaming

  4. Playing LocoRoco was so fun back in the day, really enjoyed the theme and physics!
Crush reminds me of those 2D / 3D Flash Games, really unique concept.
Great job on this showcase guys!

  5. I broke my psp while trying to mod it into using USB C. Too bad, because you guys absolutely interested me in some games today!

  6. God Eater Burst was something that really appealed to me, but I bounced straight off the game when I got it. Tried it again a few years back and could not get into it. Maybe Monster Hunter isn't for me.

I thought I heard the Power Stones weren't great on PSP. They definitely look worse and I thought that they ran worse too. I got into Wipeout via the Omega Collection, super fun racer. Crush also looks great, love that dark gritty art style, the twisted buildings and green pallete give me Psychonauts vibes, which I love.

  7. God Eater also has co-op up to 4 players and you can share avatars, so you can bring your friend's god eaters as npc to help you besides the main characters.

Some other games I enjoyed where: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, alone or with friends, Ace Combat X2: Joint Assault which allowed to divide players into complete two different missions simultanously and had more aircraft customization than other ace combat games. Then, Killzone Liberation while being underrated for not being a first-person shooter, it felt like a metal gear solid game to me with the top-down camera, many challenges to unlock lots of upgrades, collectables to unlock more weapons and even upgraded versions of them and co-op up to 2 players.

  8. While I love PSP games I really don't think that the PSP itself is the best way to play them. Putting aside all the other perks of emulation just being able to play the games with a proper analogue stick is often, and forgive the pun, a game changer. My PSP still gets use because I like to play UMD movies, it's weird that I don't like playing the games on the PSP hardware but do the movies.

Top three games for me would be:

Lunar the Silver Star. I actually kind of regret playing this version of the game first as its made it difficult to go back to the Mega-CD or Playstation versions, which I want to do in order to keep visual consistency with Eternal Blue. Lunar on the PSP is for me the definitive version of the game.

Persona 3 Portable. While having the cut-scenes turned into text panels is a visual downgrade this is another game I think is better than the console version. The game on PS2 often felt like it was wasting my time but with P3P the simplifications made to the systems just make everything more fun for me as it is a bit more immediate. Plus having the option to have the female MC is a great one.

The third spot is a tough one and I'm going to go with the 3rd Birthday simply because I don't want every game on this top three being a RPG. The 3rd Birthday is one of those games that just works better when played with a proper analogue stick.
