On Sunday night, severe storms that brought heavy rain and hail that seriously damaged the area struck Douglas County. Jesse Helms and his family in Castle Rock saw in horror as floodwaters almost broke through their house and destroyed their garden. Mud and debris swamped Robert Moore’s drainage channel nearby. More storms with the possibility of massive hail and strong winds are predicted for Monday and Tuesday, which will need extensive cleanup for the locals. Midweek is predicted to bring warmer and dryer weather.
