Istanbul, Turkey is a paradise for meat lovers, and today we’re going on an extreme Turkish meat tour! We’ll eat everything from Cağ Kebap to Buryan and a legendary Ocakbaşı. If you love meat, you’re in for a treat in Istanbul!

📍 Şehzade Cağ Kebap (https://maps.app.goo.gl/CKVeD7MLuzTPtUzj7) – This legendary restaurant is famous in Istanbul for their Cağ Kebap, which is serves on a horizontal kebab. The lamb is so flavor and so tender it’s almost unbelievable. Owner didn’t charge me.

📍 Güvenç Konyalı (https://maps.app.goo.gl/BGcKCV3GpcPmcGK3A) – This restaurant specializes in meat dishes from Konya, Turkey, and especially long oven braised meats in their own juices! Owner didn’t charge me.

📍 Köfteci Yaşar (https://maps.app.goo.gl/6d58yWYABCoBHgrT9) – For a fast Turkish meat meal on the go, kofte is something very common. This hidden gem is located without the Egyptian bazaar. Price – 300 TRY ($9.19) total price

📍 Siirt Şeref Buryan 1892 (https://maps.app.goo.gl/oWhnboqSPJdbPwqX6) – One of the kings of all meats in Turkey is buryan, originating from Eastern Turkey. The lamb is slow cooked in an underground pit, and you have the choice of both roasted and confited lamb ribs. Price – Owner didn’t charge me

📍 Akdeniz Hatay Sofrası (https://maps.app.goo.gl/1fZ2dMcAhjAb3Cfj8) – Although Akdeniz Hatay Sofrası mainly serves food from Hatay, they also have some meat dishes from around the country. I was especially excited to try their testi kebab from Cappadocia and their salt baked chicken. Price – Owner didn’t charge me.

📍 Zübeyir Ocakbaşı (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Y893V1x6WyhWpeBZ9) – Finally we couldn’t have a Turkish meat tour without Ocakbaşı, a barbecue grill right in front of you. Total price – 1,365 TRY ($41.82) for everything

An amazing tour of Turkish food and barbecue meat. Thank you again to Ugur from Culinary Backstreets.

  1. Just a wonderful range of meat dishes. However, I have to ask, does Mark have an asbestos mouth!? Eating from straight out of the oven must be an amazing taste but……ouch?

  2. I'm currently visiting Istanbul. I go to Zubeyir regularly after seeing your first video about it years ago. I've been there twice this week, and probably over a dozen times since 2020. Thanks for the videos Mark 🙂

  3. Mark this food looks so fantastic. I could just taste it right now. I’m in Massachusetts this place. I must go to everything you shown on this episode is unbelievable. It looks so fantastic. So delicious so circulating so delicious. I can’t even explain how is making me feel watching you eat that lamb oh my goodness it and the chefs are fantastic chefs they know their business and I’m impressed. Oh my goodness, turkey turkey turkey Istanbul very nice. Very nice. Very nice.

  4. I def dont think of meat because i generally don't know what Turkish food is… When the man fed the first guy with the kebob all i could think of was he stabbed him the in back of the throat with the skewer

  5. Please do not put Arabic music in the video while promoting Turkey. Türkiye is not an Arab or Middle Eastern country. Turks come from Central Asia, and some come from Europe, that is, the Balkans. Its lands are not on the Arab or Middle Eastern peninsula. And they don't listen to this music. They listen to modern music or Turkish music. This is a wrong perception towards Turks. Turks do not like this situation.

  6. The lamb cooked in the pumpkin looked incredible. So tender, and I could only imagine the delicious flavor the pumpkin infused into the meat and vice versa. Yum!🤤
