You should have put โRECORDED HISTORYโ there have been tsunamis bigger than these before. The world is hundreds of thousands or millions of years old
Testament to how incredibly difficult it is to generate believable and interactive water effects. There are just too dam*ed many physical variables. WETA hired fluid dynamics physicists to help the computer effects artists at the renowned CGI effects giant generate the best possible โinteractiveโ water modeling software. I imagine it took no small number of networked computer workstation thousands of hours to render the various H2O infused scenes for the sequel to Avatar!

Lituya Bay mega tsunami was actually 1720ft. at its maximum height. That's 524m. This was measured by the height of the first that was ripped down on the opposite side of the best from where it started. The boat pictured is true. One did ride over it before it became a full breaker.
