If the winch and hook were fine, why did he do that? I assumed his winch was broken.
I'd make them buy me a new boat. I'd give em a day to bring results, then I'd start phase one of asset recovery mode.
Should buy a tractor and sit at the boat ramp charging 10 bucks to launch peoples boat for them. And 10 to get back on trailer. As a marine mechanic i got used to using a tractor and it literally takes 30 seconds to launch a boat and another 30 seconds to get it back on and out of the water.
