PENANG, MALAYSIA – Today on this Malaysian food tour in Penang we’re eating seafood all day long! From fresh deep fried pomfret to squid and shrimp noodles on the beach, and an outstanding Malaysian Chinese seafood meal – we’re eating some of the best seafood in Penang! For this food tour today we’ll be in the southern part of Penang Island.
Restoran Bawal Goreng Pokok Cheri (https://maps.app.goo.gl/A5ywSrfGioMzWtSG7) – We’re starting with a local Malay restaurant that’s famous for deep fried pomfret. The pomfret is marinated in turmeric and deep fried, and served with an amazing curry gravy. Price – 15 MYR ($3.20) per fish
Pak Tam Mee Udang (https://maps.app.goo.gl/5tmjC73hoN6Bvnqh6) – One of the famous seafood dishes that you’ll find in southern Penang Island is mee udang, or shrimp noodles, and seafood noodles. It’s a bit of a sweet and sour taste. Price – 20 MYR ($6.40) per bowl
Gertak Sanggul Tua Pek Kong Seafood (https://maps.app.goo.gl/NHQ52UXTp9EANfEs5) – One of the highlights of me eating seafood in Penang was this hidden seafood gem on the beach at the end of the road. The seafood is extremely fresh and cooked perfectly. Price – 190 MYR ($40.51) for everything
Penang is an island and you can guarantee you’ll find some delicious and fresh Malaysian seafood!

Hi, may I give you some suggestions 😀:
• If you don’t mind, can you tell us which place is your “hot spot” OR “star of the food” in every episode at the end of the minute? I’d like to use your Penang series as my reference soon. Cause I’m going to Penang this year. Tq!
Mee Pak Tam also have a crab with the noodles especially when the crab season are in. It will make your hands dirty but worth it.

O dear Mark…u make me miss Penang.I been living there for 5 years n the set made me craving for the Malay curry.Next time ask for kerabu or Malay salad .You can only find kerabu in Northern Peninsular Malaysia tho. That s the different in the nothern part Mark..the eateries sell simple set food which is an equal balance diet such protein, carbo, fiber n very affordable .Dont forget to try laksa Penang .
