Most of our videos only show 2-3 minutes of the rescue. In reality, the team often spends several hours scanning local seal colonies for potential entanglements. Some days, we do not find any entangled seals, while other days are more successful, with 10, 20, or even 30 rescues in one morning. The process begins with identifying a seal in need and ensuring good team communication so that all rescuers can spot the animal. Once the chase begins, we always hope to find additional seals in need, but we are satisfied if we can rescue at least the target seal.
