A mother and daughter were walking down a street near their home when they noticed a cat screaming for help. The cat approached them but stopped a bit of distance away. The cat was screaming in agonizing pain.
The mother and daughter stopped, wondering what was wrong. They were worried the cat carried some disease and didn’t know what to do so they began filming. Probably hoping to show it to someone more knowledgeable about cats later. That’s when the little girl saw something around the cat’s neck.
The mother quickly hand the camera to the daughter and got closer to the cat. The cat didn’t run, it seemed like the cat knew the humans were there to help her.
They grabbed the cat and pushed away its fur around its neck to reveal rubber bands. Wrapped tightly around its neck. The little girl started screaming for her father to grab scissors. While the father went and find scissors, the mother kept trying to grab the rubber band but it was hard. Until finally, she was able to grab hold of the rubber band and pulled it off the cat’s neck.
But there were more still wrapped around the cat’s neck. They had to pull each one off carefully to not harm the cat. Finally once all the rubber bands were off, the cat seemed to feel much better. But she was still scared.
The family stroke the cat gently. The kitty is now safe.

While camping we found a kitten walking on the bone of its front ankle joint, bent backward and raw to the bone. While brushing the burs from her fur, I found someone wrapped thread around its tail many times. The little bone from the tail was dangling from the thread. Her leg had to be amputated.

It's very hard for me to watch something like that! I had a cat a little over 2 years. My favorite cat, an orange cat. His name was Georgie. He had been out for most of the day. I guess he was crossing the street and somebody ran over him on purpose. They got in the wrong lane and they were hanging out the window to make sure they hit my poor boy😢

While social media may have some awareness message, it is up to us to be their voice. Push for legislation to protect them. Punishment to fit the crime, mandatory jail time and a fine. It is not out of line or silly to include a offender list. It is not enough to feel sorry for these animals. We must reach deep into out hearts until there is no other animal to suffer from the cruelty of a human.
