When faced with a street fight, the priority is your safety through avoidance and de-escalation. But if you’re in an unavoidable situation, here are quick self-defense tips:
Stay Calm and Assess: A clear head allows for better judgment and reaction time.
Maintain Distance: Keep a safe distance from your attacker to give yourself time to plan your next move.
Use Your Voice: Firmly tell the attacker to back off, which can sometimes deter them and attract help.
Aim for Vulnerable Areas: Target areas like the eyes, nose, throat, and groin for an effective escape.
Use Everyday Objects: Use items like keys, bags, or pens as improvised weapons.
Defensive Posture: Keep your hands up to protect your face and prepare to block or strike.
Escape Holds: Learn techniques to break free from grabs, such as twisting against the attacker’s thumb.
Stay on Your Feet: Avoid going to the ground where it’s harder to defend yourself.
Escape: Your goal is to get away safely, not to win the fight.
Seek Help: Once safe, contact authorities and report the incident.
Remember, the best defense is to avoid confrontation. Awareness and avoiding risky situations are key to staying safe. If you’re considering self-defense training, choose reputable programs that focus on practical, real-world techniques.

  1. As a third-degree Black Belt in Kenpo karate working out like I did every night in a park two blocks from my house, I was attacked by three Mexicans with knives. At first, I thought they were joking because I had Kung Fu broad sword in my hand but NO that didn't deter them from advancing on me. Keep in mind this happened in California, so I put the sword down and SET into a CAT stance, left forearm held in front of my heart fist like a boxer, Right Forearm held tight to my ribs with my right hand in a cobra thumb under hand, fingers splayed ready to strike the eyes while I blocked the knife strike to my stomach. Eleven years practicing this move and here it was happening in real life and death. His hand coming from behind his back, blade tearing through my t. shirt, point of his dirty blade penetrating my skin My response was a split second faster, Left open hand block doing a downward block on his knife while at the same time my COBRA strike went deep into his eyes all the way back into his skull. I pulled my Cobra back and his left eye exploded then he drooped, blind for life in his left eye. The other punks just pulled away, I looked up and saw four more guys coming my way fast, so I got my stuff and ran, with a smile on my face

  2. It would be a thousand times more effective if these "specialists" and "experts" would tell us of real events when they used such techniques and how it worked. Otherwize it's all mostly unproven theory. . But of course, these instructors want to look like the good guys who never get into fights. My brother who is only around 5'1", when he was down to 30kg on chemo and with almost no strength palm struck a guy under his chin who was heaps taller than him. The bully turned into a crying wimp and ran off when his dentures flew out.

  3. What does he mean you do not have the right to break his kneck. If someone is trying to kill you ? Hurt you snd they get paralyzed or something. How is it your faukt

  4. First and last guys are the best. Best fight fast video I've ever seen. Finally, you got guys that are showing some good stuff.
2:51 under no circumstances should you do this. 1. Its a very specific move on a very small target. 2. You're leaning back off balance, if they keep rushing forward (and they will) You're going to get taken off your feet.

  5. I did ko combat sport at competition level, muay thaï included. I've never given any kick or knee in a street fights, only fists, thaï clinch projections and sweeps. Okay, one knee one time, a jump knee because I was running toward a guy who was picking up his jacket under a car (I immediatly thought he had a knife in it). Finally, always did street fights as a self defender, always at a deficit of number of assaliants (minimum two).
Both guy in the video are actually okay but the main thing is to attack first and if ko is not obtained, always counter attack, ALWAYS ! make him/them hesitate. Having said that, I say that at 50 years old and above for men, or without age limitation for women, a six shots wadcutter (at least) is legitimate. Period.

  6. I agree with these 3 points. I’ve learned them in different ways. For example, I like the crane styles elbow use. I was also taught to move to the outside like the 3rd example showed with the big guy, “when water flows and encounters a rock in the stream, what does the water do? Does it go through the immovable rock? No, it flows around.” 😂😂 There’s some old school kung Fu SIFU talk.

  7. Great practical knowledge. I cosign these simple real world techniques. And I tell you what, it's probably best to take heed to what Larry Wick is telling ya. He's setting ya straight. Shout out to Bob Pierce. Great video.

  8. professional fights have no desire to permanently damage opponents It can happen to them in a hot second, so they dont. I've never once seen a front or side snapkick actually hit the knee and are almost never attempted, but they work GREAT vs untrained people. People are just too damned lazy to work enough on curling up their toes.
