Welcome to Harry Potter theory. As I’m currently on a work trip visiting the Harry Potter MOTHERLAND (Edinburgh, Scotland) I have put together a compilation for you of some of the DARKEST / CREEPIEST / MOST DISTURBING Harry Potter Theories out there.
As this is a compilation style video spanning YEARS of the channel please be aware of some varied audio levels, inconsistent numbering and some (but hopefully not too much) repeated information.
Also before we dive in I just want to mention that only 25% of you are subscribed! So if you enjoy the content please subscribe to help support the channel.

Dumbledore couldn't read peoples minds, snape himself said the muggle view of leginimancy is the ability to read people's minds, and that's a poor description. It's the ability to see into ones minds and memories thought of at that current moment. And occlumency is the ability to shield it. Snape was the most powerful occlument. Tom riddle as a youth was a powerful occlumence. And the fact is even Lupin thought Sirius did it. Dumbledore didn't know and wouldn't have been able to
I absolutely abhor the fact that the most interesting aspects of EVERY book/novel/poem-song are never confirmed by its author.
I think the creepiest above all these dark theories is the one which evaluates Dumbledore’s hypothetical plan to turn Harry into an obscurial to use him as a weapon against Voldemort, as his beloved Grindelwald has done with his grandson Credence against him.
Odd question:I just rewatched chamber of secret but if the journal took giny's life and revived tom while the body got restored in goblet of fire.
Would we have had a double voldemort situation?
The theory that the Wizarding World is a product of Harry's imagination is bolstered by Platform 9 and three quarters itself. Harry was born on July 31, 1980. James and Lily were killed October 31, 1981, exactly 15 months after Harry's birth. Harry learned he is a wizard on July 31, 1991, his 11th birthday. He had lived exactly 9 3/4 years with the Dursleys at that time.
In “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” (the reference book, not the movie), Newt Scamander poses the theory that Dementors are mutated Lethifolds. Lethifolds resemble a cloak on the ground, they physically suffocate their prey (whereas Dementors emotionally suffocate), and the only known defence against one is the Patronus charm
The dementors remind me of people that have dementia and Parkinson’s disease when they lose their memories and happiness and joy. I’m sure JK Rowling made the dementors on the effects of Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease
I don't think the Harry's imagination one makes sense as hp theory explains harry supposedly makes the wizarding world up because he is depressed and abused to the point of near starvation so he makes up the world however the dursleys would not have been so abusive because harry was never magic they hated harry and Lily James and the whole wizarding world petunia did because she was jealous Vernon because petunia did and it was abnormal so they wouldn't hate him they would love him it even states in the book before Lily got her Hogwarts letter her and petunias had a strong relationship so they hated harry because of magic so if magic didn't exist then the dursleys would still be bad people on the outside but the y certainly wouldn't be so abusive
I've had a dark theory about Dumbledore since the beginning….. here's the short/long of it:
Dumbledore knew how horrid the Dursleys are, which is why he placed Harry there.
You see, Dumbledore knew that if Harry was raised in the wizarding world (even by the Weasley's) that Harry had the potential to grow a bit of an ego, from being popular & wealthy…… an ego that could match Voldemort's.
Dumbledore knew that if Harry was raised in a way that made him never view the Dursley's home as "his home" then Harry would unequivocally fight for Hogwarts & the wizarding world.
I believe if Harry was raised in the wizarding world that he would have ended up accepting a Slytherin placement, instead of running from it……. Draco became the new Dudley, so of course Harry would want no part of him, including the Hogwarts House he was placed into….. Harry would have definitely met Draco if he was raised in the wizarding world, so it probably would not have been enough of a deterrent to deny Slytherin.
TL;DR — Dumbledore specifically placed Harry in a home that would mentally abuse him his entire life, in order for Harry to become the exact opposite of Voldemort (which would ultimately become the key to end Voldemort).
The whole “It was all a dream” theories are the dumbest and laziest theories because you can say it about anything.
The scene with Aunt Petunia wasn’t deleted, at least it wasn’t here in the states.
671. Points. Julie. 😊🎉❤gryffindor. Hogwarts house 🏡
Bertha Jorkins fetus theory is disgusting
Here is my dark theory, and it's about something I never see anyone bring up. But, I think Sirius wasn't the only one imprisoned in Azkaban for a crime they didn't commit. Sirius tells Harry in GOF that he wasn't the only one sent to Azkaban without a trial, he also tells Harry that most people there gave up and died after a year. Barty Crouch Sr had become worthless when fighting against Death Eaters in the first war, he stopped giving most people trials and started having people (like he did with Sirius) taken straight to Azkaban, he even allowed Aurors to use the Unforgivable Curses (something Sirius also says in GOF).
So, I believe there is a chance Azkaban had more innocent people than Sirius locked up in there, and I don't mean any of the Death Eaters that broke out in OOTP were innocent when locked up, I mean ones that didn't break out and were left in there because Voldemort or whoever broke the Death Eaters out aren't going to bother with prisoners who aren't Voldemort’s followers, or maybe some of the ones that's just gave up were innocent people.
When Fudge is talking to the muggle prime minister at the beginning of book 6, he mentions that the dementors are breeding and that is the cause of the cold weather and mist that summer.
Sirius never wanted to defend himself, so why anyone wanted to reveal the truth? After Pettigrew killed those muggels the day after Voldemort had vanished Sirius was standing by the hole in the ground and laughed like a mental person. He never asked to meet Dumbledore to tell him the truth. But the weird thing is that some Death Eaters in Azkaban knew that Pettigrew was on Voldemort's side but they never told this to anyone. Perhaps they were treated like mental as well.
My version of the Dumbledore leaving Black in prison is that he wanted to have more control over Potter's upbringing in order to "optimize" him for fighting Riddle. Black would have probably tried to provide him with a normal childhood and might have kept him from some of the dangers in the books.
There's one problem with the voldamort polly Juice potion theory. Doesn't that potion take 6months to brew. Or something like that.
13:23 I always thought Dementors were a tool for Dark wizards with a horcrux. What if they lacked a foe or a willing servant? The Dementor's Kiss could provide a souless vessel for them to inhabit.
the love potion theory is bogus, he watches ginny at hogwarts while hiding in the horcrux hunt, at which point the love potion would be well out of his system
The “imagination” theory for Harry doesn’t pan out. If his parents died in a car crash he would have been with them. Not many parents leave a baby that age with people. Especially knowing that the grand parents were dead so there really would be no one to leave him with as we know the Dursleys don’t want him. I have two kids and with our first child my wife didn’t want her sleeping at someone else’s house or staying there like at all in my daughter’s first year. It seems like someone just wants to make a psychological reason for a fictional story. When 9/10 times psychological issues are blown way out of proportion and blamed for things happening, instead of just enjoying a fake story.
10:37 actually I think muggles can see dementors. They see them as blue hair people. Lol.
Dumbledore moved on as a ghost
I stand by point I’ve made before that Petunia is one of the worst characters in HP as she abused a small boy for years. However didn’t Petunia’s jealousy and hatred towards lily start because she was a witch? If lily wasn’t a witch their relationship wouldn’t have been ruined by jealousy.
Most dark theories seem to revolve around Apbus being a dick 😂😂😂
I’m part of that 25% that’s subscribed.
Amazing video ❤ Thank you ❤
Next video should be how many years in Azkaban Prison would the Grand Witch from the 1990’s film The Witches would face for crimes against Muggle Children?
My big thing with the love potion theory is that it is clear she didn't give him one but that it did affect harry in a way that pushed him towards the relationship. In the books during slughorns first lesson they cover a love potion that smells like things you are attracted to. Harry smells something familiar but can't place it. Since he wasn't outright attracted to ginny quite yet my best guess was that it was the smell of the burrow. Later on though ginny walked past him and he noticed the smell off of her. From that point on he essentially decided that it meant he loved her. Although he had been slowly starting to notice her more and more, it was that connection mase from the smell that really pushed it forward. So to me, he was affected by a love potion but not from drinking it.
There not being indication for harry and Ginny ending up with eachother is just bs. I knew from book 2 that it would happen
Sounds like a fun trip!! Any of these theories seem possible. 🔮🪄🧙♂
What could this terrible ritual be to create a horcrux? It could not be cannibalism since none of the victim who were found were consumed – certainly not Harry! In fact there was no ritual done to “inadvertently” make Harry a horcrux.
Harry Potter and whatnot.
27:33 – "BLOSSOMED!" I see what you did there.
Edinburgh. I've been there a few times. Say hello to that crazy drunken movie critic, and tell him I said "GO AWAY NAUOW!!"
🎉🦁
Lily’s parents being killed would further explain Petunia’s hatred for Lily and the Wizarding world.
I LOVE THESE VIDEOS 😊😊😊😊
