4. You could have defended your own model without a dig at the greatest shelter on earth, Takis Shelter. Takis not only has vast clean areas on top of a mountain surrounded by olive trees (planted by him and his helpers) for the vast number of dogs and cats he has to run as close to free as they could come, he also looks after very old, sick and special needs dogs and cats at the house he has built inside the shelter. He lives with these animals. He has about 500 dogs and 200 cats, because nobody else will take them. Because they will die if he does not take them. And all his animals are having a good life in the shelter. He too has enormous medical bills, as well as medicine and food bills. He employs people to clean the shelter daily and help him feed and care for the animals. Apart from building another house in the shelter, especially for old and sick animals, he also uses donation money to run spaying/neutering programmes in his area for free. He has done more than anyone to raise awareness and change attitudes in his part of the world. It is obvious that nobody in the world can do what Takis does (he does not have a private life or a family, he has given himself wholly to the cause of rescuing and caring for animals) that does not diminish your work, or the work of other rescuers and shelters. His shelter is by far the best in the world, but there should be no competition (Takis certainly does not compete, nor does he need to have a go at how other people run their shelters) when it comes to caring and saving animals.

7. You also have dogs with extraordinary health and disability problems that need huge human resources to care for them. I think that's a big difference between your model and that of even Takis, who has a huge amount of land and a lot of pretty healthy animals with fewer serious disabilities.

It's stressful & difficult & is accomplished only because they are people of great compassion & endurance. Animal lovers around the world do their part by offering the monthly financial support on which these animals rely & by adopting, not shopping for their next animal companion. 25. ❤You are avery special person with the biggest heart for animals. You remind me of me since I have rescued many myself, over 50 years. I currently have a mom & dad cat & their 5 kittens besides my own 17 -year old cat. Food goes fast, and things get costly. 26. I've always loved your model of an animal "shelter." It's the most beautiful, loving and supportive place for animals in need. I wish I could do something like it here in Texas.
