  1. Ya people had more respect for each other back then…when you talked that shit and someone beat it out of you. It usually only took once and you were learnin.

  2. I’m half Japanese and my dad was a Sergeant Major. He was infantry in Korea and MWR in Vietnam. When he retired and we moved to the midwest he bought the smallest home in a good neighborhood with good schools. He told me a couple days before school started that all these kids are white and if they call me any names, like gook, chink, jap or slope, that I should beat them with my hands, and if I need to then pick up a stick. He then directly took me in the garage to teach me how to fight. He had 16 oz gloves and I had 8 oz gloves..Well, it happened. The principal of this grade school was pretty darned progressive and took my side in these matters. Kids wanna push and shove but when they would eat a jab and go down it didn’t work out for them. So I had Dr. Ken Hallers blessing to fight on the playground to defend my heritage. I went on to AAU, Golden Gloves and PKA. Turn the other cheek was left right, left right.
