Dog with an embedded collar lived under a car with another dog and a cat. 😰
Spread The Viralist

Someone put a string around Mickey’s neck when he was a puppy, and as he grew, the string got embedded deeper and deeper in his flesh. 😰

I was told that Mickey had a friend, Minnie. When I arrived at the rescue location in Central California, I was approached my Mortimer, a cat who lived under a car alongside Mickey and Minnie. Luckily, I always carry an extra trap for cats – just in case I come across a cat in need, and Mortimer definitely seemed sick to me. (I suspected FIV, and sadly, I was correct).

Mickey was really nervous, so I knew I must capture him first. He was very scared of people, and it took a while until I was able to get him exactly where I wanted him. (You will have to watch the video to see how that worked).

Next up it was Minnie who was also nervous, but she really liked my cheeseburger. After I secured her, she freaked out! Minnie probably never had a leash around her, so she panicked!

While dealing with Minnie, Mortimer grabbed my cheeseburger, and that was not good because now he had no reason to walk into my trap. I used a very unusual method to get him, and I am very lucky I didn’t get injured!

After the rescue, I had a long drive to CARES. The doctor had already left for the day after a long day of surgeries, but she came back for Mickey.

Rescues like this require long drives, time, patience, improvisation, and a lot of money for medical care. When you donate to Hope For Paws, you have a part in every one of these rescues!!! We want to do more, but we need to grow our team of supporters. Please join us today with a small recurring donation here: https://www.HopeForPaws.org/donate

Our friends at Maison Sûre offered to foster Mickey and Minnie until we can find them a loving forever home! To apply to adopt this beautiful couple, please visit: https://www.MaisonSureLA.org

Our friends at Sante D’Or offered to foster Mortimer in a home with another cat with FIV. It is important to note that cats with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) can live a long and healthy life, often comparable to that of an uninfected cat. Many FIV-positive cats live for many years, sometimes even their full natural lifespan, especially if they receive good care, including regular veterinary check-ups, a balanced diet, and being kept indoors to minimize the risk of infections. With proper management, the quality of life for an FIV-positive cat can remain high for many years.

If you would like to adopt Mortimer, please visit them at: https://www.SanteDOr.org

Thank you so much for watching our video until the end – the footage there is so special – a true lovestory.

  1. Why are ALL these dogs and cats so gorgeous! I swear, they are ALL so cute . That makes it all the more puzzlingly
How anyone can abuse or abandon these adorable creatures. I’ll get kicked off if I wrote what to do to these abusers. It involves my husband and his 3 brothers.

  2. Oh my gosh these two dogs look so much like my two Jack Chis! Thank you so much Eldad for single-handedly rescuing them, saving their lives, and getting them medical care- especially Mickey! I hope they get adopted soon, together as a bonded pair. 💝

  5. Hey, ive been watching your channel since i was around 7 i think? Im not quite sure. Im so glad to know that you guys are still posting and saving many other animals as well. I always loved your channel although it upsets me because i live in Nepal which is in the south east asia. Over here, especially india, animals are trated like grabage. They through them away, kick them, etc and thats the condition in here in Nepal as well. I try to feed the roaming cats and dogs anything i have at home so they dont strave. My parents are against it saying theyll come back for more food and make our backyard a mess and such and thats the condition in every house here. Since im still in school (im 15) im not able to do much for them but you guys give me a lot of hope. Ill make sure to open an organization just like you guys have done so the animals in even south east asia can be treated with respect. They deserve a lot of love just as much as we do but the people cant realize that no matter what. They choke them, hit them, throw them, throw rocks at them, manipulate them and then hit them which makes the animal's trust in humans go away. This upsets me a lot but your channel always gives me hope. Please continue to do whatever youre doing. You guys are amazing and i respect people like you the most in this world. I hope that soon there will be a day where animals are not mistreated in many countries. Its funny because since i was a child, everytime i had a speech or presentation, the topic would always be animal abuse or global warming and its effects on animals, and such. I admire you guys a lot and i wish that you guys will take care of yourselves too, as much as you guys take care of animals. I love you guys and i hope you guys never stop what youre doing. You guys are amazing, i really mean it.

  6. Mickie and Minnie look like litter mates. I hope they are adopted together. In fact I pray all three are adopted together. They seem to have grown up together. One of the smoothest rescues by Eldad. Good job!

  8. I’ve been watching this wonderful channel for quite a few years now and I don’t know why this particular rescue got me teary-eyed today … but it did. Rescuing three frightened animals in that heat and to see them so happy later, just made my day and the cat’s purr topped it all!!

Thank you, Eldad, from another animal lover. I just wish I could clone you!! 🇨🇦
