Before anyone comments that we didn’t help the dog when he was dragging himself along on the road, please know that these videos were taken by his reporter. As soon as we arrived on the scene, we made sure Carson was safe.
Poor Carson was chased by a pack of dogs when he got hit by a car. For 5 days, no one helped him. He was able to drag himself along, but his hind legs were clearly paralyzed.
It turned out he had a fractured spine. We’ve had dogs with similar injuries that made a full recovery, so we were hopeful that Carson could do the same. With the help of laser therapy, he slowly started to lift his legs again – until finally, after 5 months – he was able to walk again.
Carson’s recovery is even more impressive when you consider his age: we believe he’s around 11 or 12 years old. He really is a gentle soul: very friendly, easy-going, and doesn’t need much to be happy.
The only thing he really wants is his own family! Carson probably doesn’t have many years left in him, and we would love nothing more for him to experience a comfortable, loving home in his twilight years.
