  1. This house is always photographed as if it's this remote isolated building in the country somewhere. It's literally 50 yards from the 280 and across the street from a giant apartment complex and stands at the corner of a 7 lane road. Check it out on Google Earth and you'll see how congested the area has become.

  2. The story I always heard was that she was convinced the ghosts of all the people who had been killed by Winchester firearms were out to get her, so she built nonsensical features to mislead them. I can't help but feel bad for the paranoid old widow…

  3. I've been there. All that haunts the house are the reasons for it's bizarre construction. The power of one charlatan to influence poor Mrs. Winchester all of those years. It was the great Harry Houdini who made it a mission to expose mediums. Like the Queen Mary, which I've been to twice, the stories of ghosts and voices in the house are just ways of getting tourists to visit and spend their money.

  4. I went to this house when I visited California and the moment I went in I saw a door at the end of a hallway open on its own and on the other side was just a dark room. I was already ready to leave.

  5. I don't think the Winchester House was ever claimed to be haunted in that anyone saw anything strange. At least, no claim that I can remember. Mrs. Winchester was just afraid of ghosts and so built the house to confuse them, should any happen to come by. But no actual hauntings. I could be wrong, though.

  8. I've been to the Winchester House, and while it is strange and crazily built, I didn't feel or experience anything. My late grandparents' house, however, in the western U.S. (I won't mention the city) had a long history of footsteps going through the house; knocking sounds on walls, doors and floors; the sound of pots and pans being thrown about, but actually unmoved; and one instance of a ghoulish face being seen at the front door by my late uncle. A man had been shot to death there in the early 20th century before my grandparents bought the house in the 1930s. My mom and her family experienced all of the described incidents, and then years later, I experienced many of the same sounds, even though our generation had never been told about it.

  9. I remember.how weird this house felt.when i visited the mansion with my husband and son.when we were inside one of the many rooms in the mansion.out of nowhere I started feeling really sad and I begun to cry.for no reason.and also I felt really dizzy.I truly believe. that the mansion is haunted.

  10. Check out : '' THE GHOST OF GLADSTONE VILLA''. A genuine case that occurred in Wales, UK from 1969 to 1978. This really did happen to me, my family and our friends from 1969 to 1978 and left us all in no doubt at all that the paranormal is the real deal, in fact, this property in Wales actually convinced a skeptic and a non believer so it's well worth looking into and needs to be documented !!
