Because of this sport I probably took at least 10 years off my life. My lawnmower has less metal holding it together than I do. Hindsight is 20/20. At 59 years old, I wish I never got involved in the sport.

Those guys can go up to 140 km/h. It's probably one of the most dangerous sports. However, I cannot blame them for loving it. I'm a pretty good recreational skier. I have the app ski-tracks on my phone. It tracks your speed. My record was 90 km/h. Skiing very fast is an absolute thrill, the dopamine and adrenalin rush is undescribable amazing. It's like a drug, it's like an addiction.

Number three is absolutely brutal.
But they didn't show the guy who ripped his pelvis in half and left a trail of blood as he slid down the hill.
I guess because it's too graphic, and he died in hospital. Wasn't as spectacular as some of these, but was the worst I've seen.
The most famous crash isn't downhill but ski jump on the Wide World of Sports, the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.
Gernot Reinstadler left a trail of blood on the final S of the Lauberhorn after his crash. He died hours later of his horrific injuries.
What ridiculous music. It ruins the entire video.

Kitzbuhel has flattend the vicious hill just before the finish. Many accidents occur on the Hausbergkante; steep, bumpy and the racer is tired.
