This dog was the principal of one school for over 17 years. The students called him principal. This is his story.
He first showed up at the school 17 years ago in 2007. The security guard gave him some food and tried to make him leave but he wouldn’t as he had no one and nowhere to go. The principal took pity on him and let him stay.
Feeling grateful that he has a place to stay and food provided to him daily, he became the students’ protector. He would drop in on random classrooms and when the school was over, take the students to the front gate.
He would wake up early at 6 am to participate in the 6 am school activities. He remembers all the students and their classrooms so if you were late, he would walk you to your classroom.
When a teacher is mad, the dog would try and console the teacher as if telling him or her to go easy on the student. The kids loved the dog. They gave him treats they bought with their pocket money. Some save their lunch to give it to the dog.
He has always been well loved. The only time he was sad was when they had to lock him in his cage during a big exam season. Because other students from other schools would come in and they were afraid the dog would think the new people were intruders.
When his story hit the news, some people told the school to kick the dog out because they were afraid of hygiene and safety issues. Thinking the dog was going to steal the students’ lunches and bring bugs to the students.
But the students refused to kick the dog out. Instead, they became even more loving to the dog. They also regularly take him for a checkup to make sure he is alright.
When he died, the students and principal were sad. They buried him in his favorite spot and changed the school mascot into him.
He has brought a lot of joy to countless students and teachers over the years. Even though he’s no longer here, his impact still persist. And no one would forget him.
