Nature is designed by Dominic Crapuchettes, illustrated by Catherine Hamilton, and published by North Star Games, who helped sponsor this video.

In Nature, you’ll take a role constructing an ecosystem. You’ll acquire new species, who you’ll assign traits to, grow in size and population, and ensure they are fed, healthy, and thriving. The game takes place through the adapting phase, where traits are assigned, population and size are expanded, and the feeding phase, where each population feeds either from the watering hole, or on other species if they’re a predator. You can also play with multiple modules, scaling up your game to your desires. Today, we’re playing with Natural Disasters.

Question of the day: What is your favorite trait you wish you had? Inspired by animals.

  1. I am SO jealous, I was even thinking about not commenting out of jealousy… Just kidding I couldn't not leave you a comment and I still love you ❤😊 But Nature is one of my most anticipated games ever.

The gameplay sounds really interesting as well. Not too complicated to learn but lots of strategic possibilities. And you eat more when you are social? Man… I really must be a social species then 😂

As for your question of the day… there are so many cool traits in the animal world. Did you know that axolotls can regrow lost limbs with bones, muscles, blood vessels and all? That's cool. But I would chose the (literally) Immortal Jellyfish's transdifferentiation. It can kind of restart its lifecycle when it gets old or hurt and just revert to its immature form (a polyp). Imagine that combined with the human brain. If you would keep all your memories… I'd also like to be able to fly like a hummingbirds but that sounded a bit boring for this question.

  2. It's been a long time since I've played it, but is this basically a re-skin of evolution? It seems like nearly the same game as I remember it, with a few different ways of doing the same thing?
