Abandoned desert dog had to fight for her life every day! ๐ŸŒต๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ
Spread The Viralist

G.I. Jane survived only thanks to the kindness of nurse Erica Tagalicud and the veteran G.I. Joes, who left food for her. She lived in the desert (at the midpoint between Los Angeles, California and Las Vegas, Nevada) since last winter until they finally learned about Hope For Paws and texted me for help.
I was told she shows up every day around 6 PM, eats, and disappears in the desert for another 24 hours. I wish I could have found her cave… I was so curious and quite amazed she survived this long – especially because there are so many rattlesnakes and coyotes in this area.
When I arrived after a long drive, I set up two traps and hoped I would get lucky with one of them.

She appeared out of nowhere and wouldn’t get near my traps. I acted as if I was not really interested in her and just offered food as many of the other J.I. Joes did. I tried to lead her to the trap, but something spooked her in that area (where she had dinner the night before).

I brought the trap closer to her, set it up, walked away, and that did the trick!

I was already so tired from the drive there (after a long day of work), but there was no way for me to get her into a motel and sleep for the night – I couldn’t get her out of the trap safely, so I powered through the drive back.

The process of working with her and teaching her to trust humans is so rewarding and special. Her first tail wag, first relaxed walk, and the discovery of the magic trick for her – DOGS!

I really hope to grow our organization, but for that, we need to be able to raise more funds. It’s not about getting another rescuer, it’s about being able to cover the medical cost for all these animals.

If you can, please join us today: https://www.HopeForPaws.org/donate

If you would like to foster her, please fill out a foster application here: https://www.hopeforpaws.org/foster

To apply to adopt her, please visit our friends at Maison Sรปre: https://www.MaisonSureLA.org

If you forgot to give us a like or a click on the subscribe button, it would really help us if you’ll take care of that right now.

Thank you so much for your support!

  7. She is so cute dog. Thank to rescuers! God bless this adorable dog and homeless dogs and puppies for water, food and good home! Please be kind to them and love not abuse.๐Ÿ˜Š

  8. As someone who lives in a place that doesn't have homeless animals roaming around (the only free animals are a few house cats at least when considering my environment at home and at work) it would be devastating to see them. How can people close their eyes, not care?
