Dave Arneson helped to create D&D as we know it, and for reasons I’d rather go into he got to add his original world of Blackmoor to the D&D releases in the 80’s. And where else to put the world of the one of the founders of D&D in the greatest setting of all time, Mystara? Of course, Blackmoor needs its own location in Mystara, so why not the distant past? Only with nice and convenient time travel to get from the Known World to Blackmoor and back again.

I'm fascinated by the hinted at backstory of Temple of the Frog. Sci-Fi in my fantasy
Arneson had no input in to how the material he wrote was used by TSR, and the content of DA1 was entirely arranged by the TSR staff. Arneson seemingly had planned a rescue mission starting from the ComeBack Inn, and had provided a number of the character profiles and location descriptions. TSR put these together, added a lot more, including all the Mystara and time travel aspects, new characters, etc. Arneson can't really be blamed for how DA1 turned out.
Love this for a long time i have ben loking for a guide to host a secion in this seting 😀
Thanks for putting all this in one place, it's great for just turning on as background audio and listening in chunks
