No Idea What Was About To Hatch | Wild Egg Rescue from birth to release
Spread The Viralist

A rare bunch of wild eggs belonged to a bird species I had never raised before. I decided to film her growth every day – on a neutral background so as to see her development in detail. This was an amazing journey from the wild egg rescue up until her release into the wild again.

04:55 Day to Day Growth Timelapse

*Kind reminder: Never, ever take eggs from a birds nest. Doing so would be a violation of nature and mostly cause a lot of sadness… and it’s against the law for a very good reason. The falconer (from the beginning of the video) is actually one of the only people licensed to do this, and only does in very unique circumstances.
If you do find an egg however somewhere out of place, you can try look for a nearby professional hatcher, or, if you happen to live in the Netherlands, you can now sent me the egg. Visit www.eigevonden.nl (website is in Dutch) for more info.

  1. ! I love your creativity and you must be tickled everytime you come across something you haven't had experience with before and working out solutions. It must be so rewarding. Ingenious!❤

  2. Aloha Kakahi'aka! I love the fact that u have a beautiful home and yard, but what tops it off….is that "thee spot" where u release all your beauties! Never too far away from HOME and their HOME is YOU! So as a normal person, i would get anxieties to release these precious to the wild but is rest assured that they r literally right next door! ❤it! All the way from Hawaii!

  3. Who the heck actively wants NO birds on their property? “Hmm, this walk in the woods would be absolutely perfect if it weren’t for all the goddamn BEAUTIFUL BIRDSONG!” ?????

  4. When I was a little girl living in the city, birds would get in our house by way of our chummy. Now I'm 1 of 7 kids, the third to the youngest. But every time a bird got inside my parents would come get me to get the bird. I wasn't trained for this, but I knew what to do. I would get my doll blanket, close the doors to room, make sure there was only a little bit of light, put blanket over the bird. After it claimed down, I would pick it up, turn it over, speak softly to it and watch as it want to sleep, then take it outside, place it up right and it would fly away. No one else in my family knew how I learn this or could do this. I've always believed this to be one of God's gift to me. Animals even some wildlife have come to me. I know inside what to do or what not to do.

  5. Thank you for sharing the oyster catcher chick's story. I'm lucky to live in an area where there is a few catcher families and this is the first time seeing a chick. They are beautiful birds with a haunting call.

  6. I’m amazed at how developed this bird is when it hatches. It is covered in feathers, is quite big, and can stand up.
    Day 22. She’s a beautiful bird 🙂 🌷🌱

  7. What a delightful little story to watch. The white fluffy belly on day one was so soft looking and walking on day two, with a little dinosaur profile to boot. Thanks for sharing your sweet stories.
