Painful Seal Rescue

Painful Seal Rescue
Spread The Viralist

Young seals are particularly vulnerable to entanglements. They are very curious and spend their days exploring the oceans. They play with anything they can find. Plastic is not part of their natural habitat, and they have no warning mechanisms or awareness of the imminent danger. Once a loop of fishing line, packing strap, clothing or any other imaginable debris is stuck on their necks, it stays. In the beginning, the entanglement won’t do much harm. But as the seal grows daily, the loop starts to tighten until it looks like this. 🦭

  1. Its probably not relevant to comment on such an old video, but I was wondering if there is an ointment, injection or some other immune boosting /healing medication that you can administer to these seals, just before letting them go free. Thanks and good work and be safe !

  2. Just a suggestion… Cuts like that may require medical attention. If possible in some cases can you send these guys to animal care centers?
