Valencia: Violent clashes with police during protests over government response to floods

Spread The Viralist

Thousands of protesters filled the streets of Valencia to demand accountability for the regional government’s handling of catastrophic floods.

In one of Europe’s deadliest natural disasters in decades, the floodwaters devastated the Valencia province, killing more than 220 people.

Many protesters called for the resignation of Carlos Mazón, the regional leader, accusing him of mishandling the crisis.

Demonstrators shouted chants of “killers” and held signs reading, “Our hands are stained with mud, yours with blood,” as they plastered the Valencia Regional Government Palace with muddy handprints.

  1. Dumbass Spaniards. They just like to riot and protest.
The floods were caused by nature. Water overflows no matter what is built to hold it back and gravity causes it to flow downhill and great force.
People forget at the end of the day mother nature will always prevail.

  2. Amazing how the western media doesn't show the corruption and the failure of government or the destruction and deaths of the floods but start with people violence 😂. No that's a justification for neglect of the beast that is the government of the modern world

  3. The clown/ PreZEdent of Ukraine (CPU) took away all of "Ukrenergo" from the people of Ukraine. By force, he took all the debts from the impoverished people by turning off the electricity.Indignant at the arbitrariness, he turned off electricity to pensioners without debts: he made a collapse (blackout): worse than rasheputin. Example: the village of Maksimivka, Bogodukhivskii REM, "Kharkivoblenergo".

  4. Hahahahh imagine fighting the government because of a natural disaster. Holy. spanish people are even more stupid than Ive thought. What a primitive country

  5. they need to look at the root cause of flooding and protest that.

The EU mandated the removal of over 300 dams including in this area where they contained the water to prevent flooding, all gone now,

  6. Solidarity from Larissa, Greece. We had the same scenes here one year ago after the floods in Thessaly. One year later nothing changed. We only have each other

  7. In any disaster, survivors — out of pain, anger and desperation – will search for someone to blame. It's quite understandable. Maybe they are right about the Prime Minister… I know nothing about Spanish politics…
But I can't help feeling that it would be better if they redirected their energy to something more positive, because sadly, such situations will only make everything worse…

  8. It was an act of God. Blame the source, not the humans trying to help other humans. It is called a disaster for a reason. Killing a man or others will not bring back the dead. Maybe people should be responsible and not rebuild there if flooding is becoming a real problem. Stop blaming and start living smarter.
