This is dog number THREE we have rescued from the same park in three weeks. First, we found Matlock. He is emaciated and fighting for his life.

Then, Mudder was dumped – pushed out of an SUV in the rain, and she’s pregnant. Good Samaritans saw our stories and reached out saying they are feeding a third dog, who showed up in the same spot three weeks ago (the same time we rescued Matlock).

We named her Kathy Bates and oh my gosh. Get ready to fall in love. When we met her we said, “Were you in those woods at night all alone? You had to be so brave? You’re just a baby?” She climbed in our laps, whimpering, telling us her story. She didn’t want to be alone, she wanted to be touching someone. She took that first healing nap in the lap of one of our staff members.

Then our weekend volunteers met her…they are ALL smitten. They couldn’t get enough of her. They bathed her, took her for walks where she will force you to stop walking so she can be in your lap again. More, more, more. She can’t get enough love.

Who can take her home today? You’ll have to send us pictures though, because our staff is obsessed with her. Come get her out of her crate TODAY!! Please! We are way overfull and on a rescue freeze, we need heroes so we can keep rescuing dogs like #Matlock, Mudder, and #KathyBates: Strayrescue.org/Foster

  1. Can someone please explain her crying? Is she so happy now that she is crying, so relieved now she can finally express her pain, or deeply and profoundly distressed and in pain?

  2. Your rescuers do such a fantastic job, but it is so sad to see how many dogs are dumped by heartless owners. I wish I could foster for you, but I live in NJ and so I foster for NYC euthanasia listed dogs. I am fostering two pitbulls now. If I ever move closer to St. Louis I will definitely reach out to foster. Until then, keep doing your great work!

  3. wonderful rescuers❤️❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻these dogs just know that they have found safety……and now hopefully, loving homes🐶🐶🐶🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

  4. And still some people think and say dogs don’t have feelings or emotions to show. 😢This dog is so grateful he can’t control himself. His cry of joy 🥲 is so deep and sincere you can really feel it and relate to him. At least…. I do. Poor guy. Thank you for responding to rescue this dog , but mostly for really showing you care and let him not just know it… but also for feeling it in a way that he also felt it in return. Thank you for your service, love, kindness, patience , and for reaching out because you do care. 🥰
