33. Many elderly people choose loneliness over having an animal companion during the last stage of life because of the fear of what might happen to/with their beloved companion after passing. My mother-in-law is 85 and hasn’t had a dog in 10 years for this reason. We have reassured her we would keep and love the pet, but she said no. The animal doesn’t understand where you went and they feel abandoned.

35. So incredibly sorry for the loss of your elderly soul dog. I'm not a religious person by any means, but I have no doubt that, that dog was sent to you for a reason. It was definitely meant to be b/c you all seem like a perfect fit for one another, momma & baby runt included. TY so much, not only for taking her in & looking after all her babies, but also for your strong ongoing commitment to animal welfare in general.
