As drone production has scaled up in both Ukraine and Russia, drones are increasingly used not only to strike high-value targets, but also to target individual soldiers on the battlefield.
The Kyiv Independent spent a day with one of Ukraine’s top drone units, the Achilles Strike Drone Battalion of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade, documenting their missions to hunt down Russian military equipment โ and soldiers โ near Kupiansk, Kharkiv Oblast, where Moscow is currently on the offensive.

This is scary. But I know one Ukrainian family – that lady's got 3 daughters: 2 sons-in-law are disabled bc of war, one of them has been tortured by russians. Third one and his wife are in the frontline, as well as that lady's husband. I guess those young men from the video know many more stories like this, even if they are aware that this particular soldier didn't want to go to war – well… This is really messed up.

the word coward has been demented by the concept of honour; if my house was on fire and i didnt try to help my family, i would be devastated by my cowardice, because i love my family. if i didnt love my family, i would not be devastated and it technically wouldnt be cowardice. Furthermore if i truly loved everyone, i would be tortured by my cowardice for not helping everyone. cowardice = inaction despite moral obligations. likewise, if i decide to kill someone, the word cowardice does not have meaning in that process. if it did, all hunters would be cowards for not trying to fist fight animals to death.
note: a child may brutally kill a frog out of curiosity. it does not make him a coward that the frog is helpless. it makes him ignorant and incapable of compassion for the frog. the same is true for murder.
honour begins with social agreements that hinge on trust, style/taste; if two guys agree to fist fight to the death, and one runs away, its a lesser form of cowardice – only because of the pre-agreement. however if he changes his mind halfway through and shoots the other, that is dishonourable. the words still mean different things.
