Bulk Pokemon Cards are not worth the money they used to be. Pokemon Commons and Uncommons used to be purchased by Pokemon Bulk Buyers at 6-7 cents per card. However, shortly after the release of the Sun and Moon Generation, the Pokemon Market became flooded with giant supply of Pokemon Bulk forcing prices down to less than a penny. Pokemon Bulk Cards were able to recover slightly, but a price crash happened again after the pandemic hit. Just too many Pokemon Cards were being opened forcing the supply up to a level demand was unable to keep up with.
However, even with Bulk Pokemon Cards crashing in price, there are still some cards that Pokemon Card Collectors might find in their bulk that have some value associated with them. With the rise in popularity of competitive Pokemon Cards and the emergence of the Gym Leader Challenge format, many Pokemon Cards that have rotated out of standard play, still see decent monetary value. A depression is coming next year and it is going to hit really really hard. The first data on this is the confidence index which just showed that people are not expecting things to go well next year. Sell your stuff know at the highs because when everybody and their dog needs cash to pay the highest credit cards debt ever…the markets are going to dump very hard. Wealthy whales and Rudys will make a killing but the dip is going to hit hard for the next 4 to 5 years. Be aware

5:40 technically you can use a card from base set, some cards like energy switch, rare candy, etc that have been printed for years are playable as long as they stay in rotation.

The reason why I play the TCG is because I felt I did so much collecting and it seemed wasteful to not utilize my bulk better. It’s still pretty cool to see bosses orders, and switch and cars like that that I’ve been around for a very long time still being utilized. I have them in my deck, but they’re more of the modern format.
