It was a dramatic rescue. CBS News’ Jonathan Vigliotti was contacted by a stranger who told him his three rescue dogs were stuck inside his Pacific Palisades house – alone – as the Palisades Fire closed in. Jonathan and his producer, who were reporting nearby, did not hesitate to help – risking their lives to save all three dogs.

  1. Good they got them out but the glass type was not in compliance with safety glazing laws as it was adjacent and on the same plane as the door. When they rebuild they need to see that it is made appropriate. I went through a storm glass in the seventies racing my brother to the car, just sayin…

  2. My heart overflows!! Thank you for sharing this story of heroism and selflessness. Jonathan, Christian and the unnamed CBS person you 3 will have the forever gratitude of the owners and of those lucky pups Alma, Archie and Hugo ❤

  3. Well 1 big one up for the media! I tried to do 2 thumbs up but not possible well…👍🏻👍🏻here are two for you guys!!! God bless you guys best news story in a very long time for me anyway!

  4. How beautiful, you can take my house my property my everyday things. But you can't take my family "fur babies" so glad they were able to get them out. Absolutely heartwarming ❤❤❤

  5. I had seen video of Jonathan and Christian going through the house, gathering up the dogs, but I didn't know any of the context or backstory. This video, providing that, makes the story even more incredible.
