  1. I am that apartment neighbor who will say something to you if you never take out the trash and I always have to do it, or call you out for loud music after 10pm or smoking in the building. But, I am also the one who, if I hear a loud bang from your apartment, will call or come to your door to make sure you didn't fall, or check on you if you haven't left your apartment for days. People are afraid to be seen as the bad guy, or mean for speaking up. But, it all comes down to being present and being responsible for your own actions. It takes nothing to pay attention and follow your intuition. If something seems off, don't ignore that inner nudge, follow up on it.

  2. this is why I always watch my back! going to the car or anywhere. it’s such a scary world. i’m so glad she has a strong and protective mom and that she wasn’t taken 😢

  3. She's 18, but to her mum, she is still her baby. She didn't care that her daughter was old enough to deal with the situation. The mother jumped in a heartbeat with no hesitation. Everyone can be a mother, but it takes a special woman to be a mum(mom).

  4. Only a matter of time until he gives up and decides that nobody can have her if he can't. Laws need to be stricter to prevent that scenario from happening.

  5. Every state has a crime victims compensation program. When someone is assaulted they often don't have the money to move. This is often not addressed or funded enough in most compensation programs. Money to provide for the program and services to victims are largely paid from fines, restitution, etc. Those funds were pretty much gutted during Trump's term, and in the last four years, some headway had been made towards replenishment. I don't know what will happen now.

  6. Something intrinsically wrong in fabric of society when such acts becomes all too frequent. Needs to be addressed by the system and not necessarily punitive.
