What do you think, should I hire Rebecca??? The credit for the clever idea that saved this whole family belongs to Rebecca Walker. She is a school teacher, but when she spotted Sherlock and Olivia searching for food, she felt that Olivia was hiding babies somewhere. Rebecca couldn’t touch Olivia, who was pretty shy, but Sherlock was friendly and enjoyed human contact. Rebecca had an idea, and she placed an Apple Airtag on him, but because this was in a rural area, there were not enough signals marking his location. She then ordered a GPS tracker, and that did the trick! She found the location, and even though Hope For Paws is located 4 hours south of that location, she reached out to us for help.

I gave Sherlock his name because I needed a name for the computer at the hospital so pain meds could be prescribed. I figured since smart detective work was needed here, he should have this name. 😊

I arrived at the rescue location the night before the actual rescue because he needed pain medication for his injured leg. Rebecca didn’t think it would be a good idea for me to approach the den (it was completely dark there in the middle of nowhere), and she was concerned the family would move the puppies to a new location. I agreed, handed her the medication, and drove away. Rebecca gave Sherlock the medication so he could sleep pain-free that night.

The following day, Katie, Kai, Rebecca, and I met at the rescue location to save the whole family.

True Disney fans would know how the name Olivia came up, and the babies… well, they were all born in an agricultural area, so we named the SEVEN FEMALES: Strawbery, Lemon, Kiwi, Mango, Peaches, Cherry, and Clementine. The ONLY BOY was named Banana. 😄

Rescues like this are possible only thanks to our supporters, who enable us to drive these long distances with all the needed equipment and get all of them the best medical care. Sherlock needed orthopedic surgery, Olivia was spayed, and the puppies will all be fixed as soon as they are old enough.

  1. It is clear how much the 2 adults have bonded, life partners and would be so sad if they were not adapted together, and the pups are adorable too and clearly well looked after by their parents.

  3. Oh, how I wish that you rehomed to the UK….. mind you, I'd have about twelve dogs by now! God bless you, Eldad, and HFP, for the time, love, and sheer hard work you put into caring for all the beautiful souls you rescue.❤❤ And this family are just wonderful… the few seconds of dramatic yelling exchanged for a lifetime of love and care…… what could be better?

  5. 9:38 'Amazingly, 7 girls and one boy!' was on the video for like 5 frames or something in case anybody else was curious what was written there and wondering if the channel had someone entered into an ARG or something.

  6. The idea that the main guy would criticise the puppies for 'the drama' when he is MR. DRAMA is hysterical. He's a lovely guy, but as soon as he gets nervous he's basically as hysterical a man as I've ever watched. 'Okay okay okay okay okay okay okay okay okay it's okay it's okay it's okay it's okay it's okay it's okay it's okay.' like ffs man calm tf down.

  7. It always amazes me when animals have broken legs or arms that they just act like really nothing's wrong they just hide it so well when they have to be in such intense pain I love you Sherlock such a good provider!

  8. I donate $25.00 monthly ($300.00 per year) and I know my money is going to help with a cause that was very dear to my late cousin. Her wishes after her death in June of 2016 was to have donations made to animal shelters, rescues, rescuers and vet bills. Please donate to Hope for Paws. They lost everything when their building's roof collapsed and flooded the entire facility. Please make a donation to help them rebuild and continue their wonderful work! Here is a quote from Hope For Paws that may help you decide to donate: "It has been so busy here and I didn't get to post many updates, but a few days ago we had to evacuate CARES with all the animals because of the fires that got dangerously close to us. Meanwhile, we returned and the hospital is at full capacity! If you can, please join us with a $5 donation so together we can help many more animals. Thank you so much! "
