This happened in October 1947, five days before the Pathan invasion and nine days before the Maharaja’s accession to India.” Reportedly, as a result of the massacre/migration, Muslims who were a majority (61 per cent) in the Jammu region became a minority.

39. As an American bystander, I can't help but feel empathetic towards India's disputes. Yeah, I'm definitely biased, & having a ton of Indian immigrant neighbors made me love them even more… but their border disputes seem instigated by 2 countries trying to take advantage of them.

    China trying to impose their will on another neighbor, & Pakistan's insecurities causing them to clash with India, neither of which seem to be India as the cause.
