we had been wanting a golden retriever for two years when we found out our local shelter had three up for adoption. we went to meet them and while the others were nervous and barely looking at us, jolene sat quietly behind the cage and looked at us with those beautiful eyes and we immediately knew. btw we heard the other two goldens were adopted as well so all is good!!!
I've had my dog for about 4 and a half years now. Hes just the best most cutest dog ever. In fact he looks almost the same as Benny here.

Please spay/ neuter your cats and dogs. If many people would do this, there would still be plenty of pets to go around. Think of it as an act of love.
This brings back a horrible memory. One time, when I was 16, I made the mistake of going back into the holding area. That's the last time I intend to do that. I don't mind seeing Commies in cages. That's where they belong. But people like 🐈 and 🐕… NOOOOOOO!!!

This brought tears to my eyes.
I had to give my dog up after 5 years because of a living situation. It tore my heart out. This just reminded me of when I brought him to the cage and shut the door. In that moment I completely broke down and lost it.
I hope my dog had the same outcome as this one.
