9. Part of my course in college is livestock management and I've handled sheep and calves on multiple separate occasions. Just this spring in fact I was involved with my school's sheep giving birth. I've handled lambs and actually helped out with docking their tails multiple times. It's not nearly as graphic as peta would have you believe, and like The Hot Box said, it's done for the lambs own welfare. Sheep with long tails get poop stuck on their tails which attracts flies, causing flystrike. Flystrike is basically where the flies lay eggs on the sheep's butt and the maggots eat the sheep from the inside out. It's a torturous affliction and almost always causes the sheep's death, so I think a bit of discomfort to remove their tail is a lot better than being eaten alive by maggots

34. I've done a lot of local animal rescue and honestly, just be very critical of any organization.
    I also live rural, lots of farms, and the farmers are so often at events attempting to prove what peta says. Especially with shearing. So not only do they abuse, steal and kill animals, they're actively ruining people's livelihoods.
    Also, animal abuse is usually a precursor or goes hand in hand with the abuse of kids, spouses, the elderly, ect. Its likely those same fake rescue channels would hurt someone and pretend to help them if it got them views too.

35. My grandfather lives on/works on a farm and it pisses me off so much that people think farmers harm their animals. Are there probably facilities that do? Sure, there are always bad eggs (ha) but do not lump in every farmer/farm with that!
    Hurting/stressing out/torturing the animals would be like if a professional Streamer/YTer decided "I am going to pour water on my computer once a day until it breaks!"
    Sheep NEED to be sheared, Cows NEED to be milked (You know how women have to use pumps so their breasts don't hurt after having a baby? Yeah–imagine you couldn't do anything about it), and Chickens who lay unfertilized eggs literally will just roost on those eggs until they're bad…or they might break and eat them cause Chickens are kinda freaks like that
    and no, the animals who are used for meat are not tortured beforehand because that would actually spoil the meat! the adrenaline and hormones that fear and pain cause can make the meat tough and taste bad.

38. Shitty streamers is one thing, but my god, do I hate what PETA has become. Sure, the cause was noble at first, but the founder is so insane, she encourages acts like what the reps did to that dog. Fuck PETA and all animal abusers.
