I was in the December 14, 1963 Baldwin Hills, CA (near Hollywood) dam break that made history as the first live aerial newscast in history! It was on the History Channel! I was 3 years old and they evacuated us within 3 1/2 hours of the dam breaking. https://youtu.be/vM4i03xcacs
It was touted as state of the art but the oil fracking in the area combined with too thin a liner at its dirt level foundation caused it to crack. The city government provided funds to rebuild our homes.
