  1. Good that he survived but at 0:30 it seems he held his ice axe incorrectly i.e. with pick pointing forward instead of backward. That's why he had to arrest the fall with adze and not the pick, I guess he's lucky to be alive.

  2. This is why you don't stop and have a laugh on the mountain.
Heck.. the only time you should speak is when asking for help, or shouting that rocks fall from above.
If your concentration is 99%, then you will probably end up in situations like this.
He was lucky. But he was stupid, and almost paid the price.

  3. Imagine if this went worse, you're talking to your friend then a couple seconds later boom he plummets to his death, its scary to think about.

  4. I can totally relate to this. I did the same climb wearing flip flops a few years ago. One of them slipped off and I saw it tumble out of sight. To prevent frostbite I had to hop down on my one foot that had the flip flop on.
After that day I've always worn the appropriate sandals.

  5. It's enough to miss one step and if you fall you are dead, you will survive the first times you hit the ground but you will keep accelerating, after a few seconds you gained so much speed that the next time you hit the ground you will probably die, and there's still a long way to go to reach the bottom.
