  1. I was 20 miles out. Fanwood New Jersey in third grade; United flight 175 was flown hijacked, hurdling right over our heads. Flight 93 took off from our home airport in Newark. That day our teachers brought us outside into that perfect day, told us some fire happened in the city, and we proceeded to all go home. My mother, born and raised in Jersey City, was completely gutted, fixed onto the TV pacing around crying. I saw the images on the TV but didn’t know what to make of it. I’m sort of glad I was too young to really recognize what was happening. I’m sure if I were a few years older my curious mind would have looked outside and seen and smelled the huge plume of smoke. From our porch every fall we see those two beams of light shooting up into the sky like the batman symbols. All of these thoughts hopefully convey the pain and sorrow I have for this atrocity, and those who were forever altered by that day. I can’t forget this and I won’t forget those people.

  2. Even though I was never alive to see this happen, I feel really sad that anyone would choose to do this. Whatever the reasons, it doesn’t justify killing so many innocent people who probably had families and a bright future ahead of them. I’m glad that schools are still teaching us about the incident and how it impacted not only the U.S., but many other places as well. My heart goes out to the victims and their families.

  3. To this time nothing left a harder imprint on me as seeing the towers collapse and the aftermath, 9yo at the time but this I remember vividly even though I'm from Belgium
