  1. Euthanasia is just cruel imagine a world that if we stole something or did any kind of crime like fried even by accident mind you just because we forgot to carry the 1 and we get terminated for it think about that 80 percent of animals are healthy and how many of them are miss behaved and even so what are they being killed for jumping on the counter shitting on the floor and they get killed for that Jesus thank God we don't have that for people or no baby's would live to see the age of 3 it's like they get euthanized just for shitting in there diaper like I am making a point here it would be creul on humans so why is it not cruel on pets the whole system has to change and they can kill the animal with a needle well thank God the government does not want us dead since our vaccines come from a needle we would be none the wiser

  2. Shout to Kitty City in Alamogordo, NM just adopted there, amazing people doing a almost impossible job, truly people who love animals, and sacrafice for them, too.

  3. One of my local shelters won’t adopt out black cats in October either. I agree with it. Even if people don’t have evil intentions, they may still want to use it as a prop in their house and then abandon it when the month is over. I don’t put it passed people to do stupid crap.

  4. I work at an animal shelter and it’s the biggest in my country. We don’t euthanize ANYONE, we give every animal a chance to find their forever home. Currently we have 500 animals – 300 cats and 200 dogs. We also have a few birds, rabbits, hegdehogs and even a goat and a squirell. We spay/neuter every dog and cat (except those with health problems or old age) so no one tries to breed them in the future. We also have veterinary care that makes sure our animals are healthy and pet owners also can bring their animals to get checked. Our biggest hope is to find home for the senior dogs and cats but sadly people choose them rarily and some even live their whole life in the shelter but they’re taken good care of and they’re happy there. We have volunteers that take dogs on walks and socialize them. Anyways, I really love this shelter and it’s the best version of an animal shelter that I can imagine!

  5. I cut out the middle man; folks drop dogs and cats on my property. Everyone's fixed, loved, and well cared for, but someday I'd really like to pick one out.

  6. I got my dog from a breeder. I think he has a better life with me other than some stranger he would have been sold to. Im not perfect at caring for my pets but I always make sure their in a safe, clean, healthy and loving environment where they fill their belly's all day.💞💞💖💖👉😻😻😀😄

  7. DUDE FUCK ANIMAL SHELTERS FUCK ANIMAL RESUCERS… i found a colony of cats or watever(6 or 7) and i fed them gave them water abd left. The next day i try looking around who can help them and animal shelter wont come unless their trapped. The animal rescue will just neuter them and throw them back out

  8. Of my most recent 3 cats, 1 was from a shelter (a black one) and the other 2 were because I suspected that if I hadn't taken them they would have ended up being taken to a shelter. The most recently adopted one was a senior kitty that once she figured out that she was in a home with someone who she didn't need to hide from (for some reason she had trust issues, possibly because she was moved through 3 homes after her first human passed before she came to me) she took to cuddling on me most of the time. I have pictures of her on my shoulder(s) as well as on my chest.

At the risk of people reading here thinking I'm some kind of freak I'm going to admit to having in tears while typing about the senior kitty, you see, she passed a little over a year and a half ago and she died while I was holding her trying to comfort her because I knew her end was near.

About 10 months before I'm posting this I came down with an illness that caused me to have to give up my other 2 kitties and I'm not likely to be able to get them back. Because of that as soon as I can afford to care for a cat again I plan on adopting from a local shelter and it will likely be either a senior kitty or a black one because they are so hard for shelters to find homes for. A black senior kitty would cover both of those areas.

EDIT: I just added a photo of myself with the cat I talked about above as my avatar. I hope the cat lovers out there can see it and like the photo.

  9. The Moment I Heard that They Put Needle In A Animal “TO PUT THEM TO SLEEP FOREVER” I Knew Things In A Animal Shelter Will Be Bad So We Need To Stop The Needle put to sleep test and the main reason is if the Limit To the dog expires they grab that animal and put them to sleep like to stop that

  10. Look at my 2 cats that I adopted as a kitten, now 5 years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QwY7GE4jzA&t=
They are now helping to socialize the wild kittens that I foster for the animal shelter for which I am a foster mum. I have now taken care of 65 kittens in 5 years. This year I took care of 15 kittens. You can see the kittens on my channel. https://www.youtube.com/user/11Elma02/videos
Animals are no longer killed in shelters in Belgium. There is a "no kill" rule in all the shelters. Even a cat with AIDS is not being killed. They place kittens that are not old enough in foster families until they are old enough to be sterilized and castrated and chipped.
There are almost no more stray dogs because every dog must be legally chipped and sterilized. Since a few years that law also applies to cats. Now we have almost no feral cats anymore. If there are still, they are caught by the animal catcher of the shelter and can be adopted, after sterilization and chipped (mandatory for every animal). Those who are too old to be adopted are caught, sterilized and put back in the same place. Isn't that the solution for all those American shelters? If you adopt or buy a dog or cat, you are responsible for the rest of the animal's life. And because they are chipped, the owner can be found again and he will be fined for leaving his pet behind. If you bring your pet to the shelter, you pay for it. This is how people learn to take responsibility. The shelter also has many volunteers who work with the animals on a daily basis and if necessary are looked after by a veterinarian. They are now also in larger rooms and can go outside in a room that they cannot get out of.

Don't shop, adopt and chip your pet and keep it for the rest of his live.

  11. No I didn’t but my grandma found a feral cat outside and brought it outside in the feral cat gave birth to seven kittens i kept 2 but the boy died i still have the girl Though! She’s so sweet she doesn’t bite or scratch..

  12. Last time I visited an animal shelter, I was donating food. Almost ALL the dogs were pitbulls. The crazy thing is, the most aggressive dog was a golden retriever.

  13. Dogs in particular can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, ease loneliness, encourage exercise and playfulness, and even improve your cardiovascular health. Caring for a dog can help children grow up more secure and active or provide valuable companionship for older adults.

  14. I did his name is Charlie and he's the most awesome dog in the entire world and I am so not a dog person but he stoled my heart he is the sweetest dog ever and he doesn't bark or drool

  15. I got my cats from a local fostering group. :3 Fostering groups tend to know cats' personalities really well since they keep the cats in their home. Check Craiglist or sometimes Petco/PetSmart to see if there are any fostering groups in your area! I'd highly recommend it!

  16. Regarding Fact 5 – I am a veterinary technician, and have been present for hundreds of euthanasias. While I was always in a hospital setting, we used Euthasol, a pentobarbital sodium with phenytoin sodium mix as the active ingredients. It is humane, quick and painless, causing brain death before the body has time to realize it. And I also realize that most animal shelters are overly strained cost wise. Here is a solution, use Propofol. It is cheap, and if you give enough of it, the animal will go into respiratory failure, while asleep. That is much more humane than putting them in gas chambers like fucking Holocaust victims.
