mfs when they realize that 20+ year controllers wont look like new out of the box.
Scott, N64 is released BEFORE Dual Shock.
Sony copied Nintendo and still copying to this day.
I wish Sony would stop making the L2 and R2 buttons triggers. It's awful. Please go back to the PS1/2 era and just give me buttons, you tards.
Genesis Six-Button deserved more love. As do most third-party controllers from Hori and ASCII. Most others are trash, though.
Fun fact: Off-brand controllers in Japan are still crazy expensive. 😒
Xbox one gamepad is definitely the best gamepad for fighting games
Not a single mention of the Cragon Quest Slime controller. For shame, Scott, for shame.
29:15 when you starting talking about completly aweful 3rd party controllers. I was like oh god no. I made the horrible mistake of buying a madcats controller when i was a kid. not only was it just…bad. it never worked. Straight out of the box brand new, atleast 2 or 3 of the buttons didn't work. we returned it to the store like 3 or 4 times before giving up and swearing I'd never buy another 3rd party controller
i love the switch pro controller. I like it so much that i have 2, one for my switch and one for my PC lol
desperately wanna know scott's opinions on the XSX/PS5 controllers
Does this guy not clean his controllers? Gross.
Why can't you clean your controllers? The Genesis 3 button Dpad was gros as fuck.
Keyboard and mouse will remain my favourite controller
For games, I'm more to Nintendo fan but in terms of controllers, I love PS controllers. I think they're perfect. But I don't know why since I held an Xbox 360 controller belong to my friend for the first time in 2020, I had to admit, it was the best. It look awesome, it feels awesome, and really good for playing the games that I bought to play for my pc. I think no 2 will be PS5 controller.
You told Atari Jaguar controller to go home make me laugh so hard lol I love your scripts and humour! you're so hilarious xD
💎👏
Try playing baseball or football on intelivision before u Wave it off.
Xbox controllers are horrible, because of the layout
"MadCatz controllers aren't terrible but they're on their way up there."
That there is a slick burn.
Oh
9:27 ps1 dualshock with dog bite marks lmao just like the one from my childhood
N64 Controller > all other controllers. At least until mario party came out. THAT'S the game that exposes the problem with the joystick.
I don't know why, but 0:35 had me wetting myself laughing.
I can't comment on their last few peripherals, but I had a Madcatz N64 controller, several Madcatz and other 3rd party PS2 controllers over the years, an AsciiPad for SNES, and a 3rd party 6-button controller for Genesis. Most all of them worked fine for me. That said, I agree on the Boomerang 64 and SuperPad 64 controllers.
Glad to see Scott and I use the same dish soap
Bro that ps1 controller looking crazy. lmao
Can we have a Mario Galaxy comp? It would be short, but it would still be cool.
I remember getting a third party 360 controller from my uncle for my birthday so I could play minecraft with my sister and was so excited, it was see through light blue, it felt alright obviously not as good as the official with but it still feels nice and nostalgic to use
put out some real content already. instead of regurgitating your old crap Scotty
I bought a PissBox 4 $60 controller from Game Stop. An extra $5.oo for the color I didn't want. Fresh out of the box… STICK DRIFT.
I said 'screw the warranty' and pulled it apart. Cat hairs. FKN CAT HAIR.
Don't believe me? https://youtu.be/0TVa2nFLfj0 I filmed it!
As someone with tiny hands, nearly every controller that Scott criticized for being too small was one I enjoyed using
Controllers are such a scam they are deliberately made to wear out less then a year due to stick drift, thumbsticks falling apart. Sony and Nintendo have the money to make a controller that u will never have to buy another one, but they purposely make the controllers half assed.
You missed the stock Saturn US controller that was originally released with the Saturn in 1995, before adopting the Japanese controller. It wasn't that great, but not terrible.
For Shame!!! 🙂
0.75 speed makes Scott talk at a normal pace but makes it harder to ignore the censored scripted swearing 🤪
No mention of joycon stick drift???
I've always been suspicious of Scott but never knew why, that is until I watched his trash tier take on the Wii U Pro controller. The greatest controller ever made
I foresee an episode where Scott has a really important topic belut keeps getting interrupted, so the episode ends before he can talk about it.
I thought you said meteor triggers, took me a sec to realize you said meatier triggers, and to answer your n64 controller question of what it is, it is an ergonomic 6 button SNES controller with an analog stick attachment for 3d games. also Saturn pad is the greatest digital controller ever made and the Saturn 3d pad and Dreamcast controller both use hall effect sensors for their analog inputs, sidenote, everything made by Hori from the ps2 era backwards is better than OEM, and after the PS2 generation there is a 60 percent chance its better than OEM
Slight date error here. The DualShock did not come out in 1997. There was a short lived dual analog controller that did, but the DualShock itself wasn’t released until 1998.
The MadCatz GameCube controller is actually PERFECT for Melee, outside of the eventual potentiometer wear, ofc
The a/b button layout on the dogbone was emblematic of how attuned nintendo was to how we used the buttons on their controllers, especially coming off the nes. It was designed for thumb rolling, where your thumb would rest in between a and b and roll left or right as needed. It's worth noting that the GameCube controller also accommodated thumb rolling, as well as heel-toe imputs (tip of your thumb and lower joint of your thumb operated two separate buttons without needing to reposition). If you don't know what I'm talking about, just pay attention the next time you play (on any controller) you'll very likey notice you do these movements all the time, we just tend not to think about it.
Mad Katz used to make awesome fight sticks like the TE2+
25:16 is that the controller the submarine used? lmfao
It has breakout !
special edition controllers, i feel this pain. you wanna use them but end up only using them a little – still worth it and no-one can stop me. DS4 and Dual Sense though are a fresh new hell.
ahh yes the wii u gamepad my favorite thick wii remote
im ngl those 3rd party n64 clone controllers have REALLY nice analog sticks
You missed out on a really amazing PS2 controller by Afterglow (I think, it's been a while). This controller was about 20% smaller, so I felt it fit more comfortably in my hands, and the L2 and R2 triggers were a little bit closer to the grip making a "staircase" like structure with the L1 and R1 instead of having them both at the same level and it felt much more natural to hold. I've never been able to hold any controller with my middle fingers on the L2 and R2 buttons without pain in my fingers so any game that required access to all four buttons at the same time were unplayable until I found this controller. Unfortunately, the wires weren't made of good material and would crack open or break off within a few months of use. I kept going to buy more as it became the only controller I was willing to use (and they were cheaper than other controllers) until it was no longer made and I can't find them anymore.
SuperPad 64 was my go to controller for the 64 xD
The touchpad on the DualShock 4 and DualSense are actually fantastic for text input with the on screen keyboard.
I discovered recently that the PS2 version of Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Controller has a pull cord that makes the controller do the chainsaw engine sound
