On January 9, 2022, A Forsyth County sheriff’s deputy pulled over a Honda CRV for speeding and failure to maintain lane.
The officer engaged in conversation with the driver, who admitted to having consumed a single beer and attributed his erratic driving to dry hands and lotion use.
To ensure the driver’s safety, the deputy requested him to step out of the vehicle for a field sobriety test.
Despite initial cooperation, the situation took an unexpected turn when the driver resisted arrest
In an attempt to arrest the driver, the deputy deployed a Taser, but the driver managed to return to his vehicle and escape the scene.
A pursuit ensued, with the deputy radioing the vehicle’s description and initiating a chase along the highway.
Deputy managed to close the distance and executed a pit maneuver, but the driver swiftly maneuvered back onto the highway, and the chase carried on.
Coordinated efforts led to the deployment of stop sticks, aimed at deflating the tires of the fleeing vehicle.
The deployment of stop sticks was successful, deflating the suspect’s tires, but the pursuing officer also encountered the obstacle and had to come to a halt.
Ultimately, the driver’s desperate attempt to escape came to an end when law enforcement managed to corner and apprehend him.
He was charged with fleeing/attempting to elude for a felony offence, failure to maintain lane, speeding, obstruction, reckless driving, improper/erratic lane change, dui, driving while license suspended, failure to use seatbelt and unlawful use of wireless device.

Foco police do not play anymore… I remember my teen years. They got me twice and I instantly learned to obey laws. The officers slammed my drivers door shut when I tried to open it since I was in a coupe. That was my wake up call. Got a ticket for wreck less driving laying drag and went to sleep in my own bed that night. 2nd time was me racing a co worker and got a 64 in a 45 and 3 months of probation to submit my defensive driving lol.
Police are like cats. They love the chase. No reason this should have escalated to a custody escape and then dangerous chase🤨 dangerous

I couldn’t stop laughing at the lotion use. One of the last things you should do while trying to grip a steering wheel is choose that moment to apply your hand lotion. You know he’s drunk for trying to use that lame excuse before anything else.

.07 is legal!!! He seemed to perform the tests much better than folks in other videos. This cop should be off the force. The law states .07 is legal. A law enforcement officer should know what that means! He's just generating revenue. Those are exactly the cops we no longer want. When people say "defund the police" that's what they really want to stop. The professional money generators disguised as law enforcement officers.
This is why you don't do the road side tests. You will never see someone do road side sobriety test and pass. If they ask you to do them you already arrested.
