Why is your opening so violent with regard to sound, visuals and overall content? This is exactly what you are fighting. It does not make sense. I just love the work you do. Please rethink this . . . especially with all the important work you are doing in Washington. First impressions count.
I am a retired nurse and worked with lots of wound care. If a wound is really infected I used water pressure to cleanse and debride. Then calcium alginate to pull the infection out of wound and change it twice daily until infection is cleared. Water baths will heal after infection is gone.

I would of expected that all donations you get would be used to save more horses. I thought that would be a priority not building as it does not save a horse. But with all that has been donated it should of went on rescueing not making your life easier. I feel sorry for all the horses that could be saved with that money. That is what i thought a NFP organisation would be saving lives
How about some raffles to raise the money for a new x-ray machine. The prize being a week’s stay at horse plus??? Some personal items of the staff-like a stuffed chicken??? That’s about all my old brain can think of.
Poor Pooh, couldn't he have just a last nice couple of months until a tumor would start growing back? Just a last summer?
You guys are amazing, your hearts are so big and kind. Would you please work on getting laws passed that punish abusers of animals, put an end to what bad humans do to animals.
Thanks to the greed of the auctions that kicked them out, it was the catalyst that gave the legal efforts the extra OOOMMPH it needed, to put an END to horse slaughter! Way to go Horse Plus Team!!!
My eyes lit up when I saw Pooh, what a beauty. Thanks to the vets for caring for him and staying strong to give him the last act of kindness, I know that it takes an emotional toll.
That's terrible news about poor Pooh, but at least he has responsible owners who will do the hard part to prevent his future suffering. Situations like this are the hardest decisions that I have faced as a pet owner. It's never an easy decision to make, but it is much harder when the animal is not in immediate distress and you have to base your decision on the suffering that lies ahead. Pooh's situation is even more complicated due to the possibility of it being infectious to others. It's just the worst set of circumstances for all involved especially with him being so young and all the effort you put into saving him. I'm so thankful he came to you guys where he'll no doubt be loved on through his final breath here.
I also can't help thinking about how many cases like his have shown up at horse sales across the country. How many horses are exposed to various diseases at sales. I think everyone realizes the risk of the more common infectious diseases like strangles that are not uncommon in horses that have been through some auctions, but there are others that are even more devastating. When you think about all these horses that have multiple auction tags on them from different states and are stressed from traveling, lack of proper medical care and nutrition along the way, it really is a miracle that more don't get sicker than they do and spread it to others at every stop.

That Spay/ Neuter clinic is HUGE. I love that you are reaching out to make Big changes in the animal world, not just putting a Band-Aid on the ones you can get your hands onto. Preventing unwanted pregnancies is huge. Same with the horses, Gelding every one possible helps cut down on the over abundance of horses that might fall through the cracks. Good job Horse Plus Humane staff.

For the horse with the open wound that is not healing,…. Manuka honey? Vikings used it for its antibacterial properties and help closing wounds.
