  1. There's one thing about this that has always troubled me. There are plenty of carnivorous animals that have no trouble eating meat that has already gone bad. Many of these animals coexist in areas with the possum. If this scent they secrete bluffs the other animals into thinking the possum has started to turn then why would this bother the carnivores that don't mind eating rotten meat?
